which way does the oil flow

which way does the oil flow through an oil filter on a 4age 20v? the reason i ask is because i got a oil cooler with remote mount filter and want to make sure the oil goe through the filter before the cooler so it doesnt get clogged with crap

oil flows into the outside of the filter and out through the centre back into the engine.

from block

outside to the oil cooler
oil cooler to the outside of filter
center of filter back to the centre on the block

we run them like this, cos if there is any muck from when the cooler is made the oil filter will catch it.
Also if you run a bearing and metal goes through it. metal will get stuck in there. If you clean it out with fluid etc this wont work that well, so u have to sonically clean it out and there still could be stuff left in it when you go to reuse it, there fore having it before the filter, least the filter will catch the excess metal that didnt come out when cleaning it and not go into ur engine.

and you get really nice cold filtered oil going to the turbo which is on that return to the block
