just so you know how important it is....
any air entering there will not be read by any sensors, or be controlled by the throttle........

Yea, I had the feeling I needed to fill the whole, but no one had made any real mention of, so best to check!

Yea, i once took the plenum off to have a gander etc and decided the car would run with the plenum off, I was so thick that day, DUH AFM!! That was one big leak that wasnt being picked up by the sensor :P

So stupid question but for catch can setup i will need something like this instead of running a line back into my intake?

Not if you are wanting to retain your PCV valve (which i would recommend). You would need a sealed can with 1 inlet and 1 outlet and no filter. Like this:

Sooooo if we really wanted, like in TWSTD previosu picture we can just attach a breather to the outlet on the side and everything will be fine or is that not advisable???

Side of what? Side of the catch can or side of the head? If the latter, then although its ok, you wont be alowed on a track with it like that as there is the potential for oil to blow out at that location...

I suggest you check the regs for the classs you are racing in - they may have specifications you need to follow. Personally I run a 700ml one in my charade.

You also need to add there that the CC ratings are after multiplying with an equivilance factor for turbo's and rotary's.

go get a T or Y piece / joiner (go classy and get a brass one), a local machine shop / nuts and botls supplier will have them.

As a temporary measure you could always use a plastic Y piece from the gardening dept at mitre 10 ...

Simple and quick question (since im not near my car)

What is the inlet size of the breather on the side of a crank case (the one that runs to the standard filter box)on the AE111 Black top?
