5MGE W58 clutch fork substitute?

Anyone know what other W55/56/57/58 clutch fork will work on a W58 5MGE bellhousing?

I know 3TGTE and 1G clutch fork are the same. 3TGTE clutch fork are slightly different to 5MGE clutch fork.

i thought the clutch fork was gearbox specific, ie what engine is bolted to it doesn't matter, so all W5X forks would be the same?

correct

well atleast for W5* any way

the only difference is thurst berring

& the very early ones that were cable not hydrolic
The faster you go the quicker you get there

Here are three W55/57/58 clutch forks that are all different. 5MGE, 18RG/21R, and 3TGTE.

Anyone got pics of clutch forks from G52 or W55/57/58 L/2L/2L-T, 2Y/3Y/4Y, 2RZ/3RZ or 1S?

why not use a hydraulic throw out bearing you get them from any good speed shop

1s/2c = R the bendy one

5k/g52 km36 looks like the M one with the notch out of the side, different clip and profile but same length and should interchange

colin dray once said to me there were 3 forks for w55/57/58 etc alloy supra box types, the straight, the notched and a 3rd which im guessing is the bendy

they are not the same.. ie different in length between the pivot and the bearing and also between the pivot and the clutch slave contact point.

its about time someone made a comparison list! (for supra box unless stated)
notched = M, K (km36 G52), K A & T (only from 22spline T50) (shortest type) approx 113mm pivot to clutch slave
straight = T (3tgte), G, C (ce71), (middle type) approx 118mm pivot to slave
bent = R, S, C (cr30 G52), (longest type) approx 125mm pivot to slave.

JZ, RZ, L, Y,

also interesting to know... there are variations found on the same engine!
ie 1C bell from ce71 has different position of the clutch slave than say a 1C cr30 (same side but lower down and different fork)
would like to know other variations!

edited above post and will continue to when found more info

it seems there's two length's of release bearing carrier for each box
ie W55, W50, T50, K50

G## gearbox has a similar size release bearing as W5# alloy gearbox. some have a separate carrier.. some are a single unit with the bearing. (buy a new one which should come with the clip) :idea:

me thinks we need a comparison of which engine needs which length release bearing carrier (thrust bearing)
