Alexandra road hill climb , who's entered ?

Postby DexGT » Fri Mar 14, 2014 7:46 pm

As the subject says , who's doing the hill climb this sunday , apart from me in the mighty (internally standard ATM) 4E turbo panda starlet ?

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

I was planning on attending this, as I always do, but it was pouring down on the coast where I live so figured it wouldnt have been the best for spectating, so decided to stay home. The video clips didnt even look that wet???

What was the best time of the day, and Dex/Leon, how did you two get on this year?

After a somewhat controversial decision over weather to include the 3rd runs of those that got them , I got 8th overall and 4th in class.

That's the breaks with competition.

If they excluded all of run 3 they would disadvantage some, if they included run 3 they would disadvantage others.

Also the rain had been on and off all day, so getting a dryish run was a bit of a lottery.

This road claims its fair share of victims every year.

This is where I test my car when I get new things done to it.

And yes I have been down the bank in my car also.

Thats interesting, you saying that, mate.

For my entire life, well as long as I can remember going to the Mt Vic Hillclimb, which is decades, my dream was to build a car that I could enter in the hillclimb.

Now, as time has marched on, and my frontal lobe is more developed, its the last place I would want to enter the Supra to drive balls out lol.

I hope your car wasnt too damaged when it went off the bank, Coryn? Must have been years ago huh?

About 5-6 years ago I almost saved it to just missed the bank on the left did a 360 but as I came round I got my right rear caught on the grass went for the accelerator and it just spun and slipped about 3 metres down the bank got caught on the side of alot of bushes,It was a mission getting out of the drivers side.

Rang the tow truck he pulled it up the bank and then drove it home.

Glad to hear no serious harm was done, too.

Finally had time to edit and upload. I actually used a tripod for this event, although it isn't the smoothest film work ever...
Those crashes happened just after I left!
