Autocross, Eastern Hutt Road Silverstream this Sunday

Postby Leon » Mon May 04, 2009 2:20 pm

Gather ye faithful from 9am.

Google search 408 Eastern Hutt Road. Or head South from Silverstream roundabout on Eastern Hutt Road, whilst heading towards Stokes Vegas, you will see us in the paddock on the East side of the road.

Do bring

$20
Helmet, 100% cotton overalls, a car that will pass scrutineering (so, be wary about monkey mounted aftermarket seats, batteries that are in boots of cars, batteries that are not mounted to the car with large bits of metal.
Road tyres with road tyre tread patterns

Do *not* bring
Dogs
Idiot friends
Rally / Snow / Offroad 4x4 / gnarly retread tyres.
Idiot friends
Friends who are idiots
Overalls that are polycotton (hint: read the label inside the overalls)
Idiot friends

You may only enter two clubsport basic events without joining a car club.

If you want to join a car club, then click on www.hccc.org.nz and see if the car club most of the Toyspeeders are in sounds like fun. If so, join 8)

If rains are many, we may get rained off. But, if you are concerned text me on 027 6996 838 early on Sunday morning to check.

There will be four official timed runs. The fastest three official timed runs you do will be added together to give the overall result. If we have time, we will run fun runs also that will not count towards the results. If we get 30+ people turning up, we probably won't have time.

PS: did I mention don't bring idiot friends? We keep getting people who think it is really clever to do wheelies when they leave the venue. We don't want to be associated with people who drive like plonkers on the road.

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

Yes it does , but I'll give anyone $7.50 each for them as a favor to you all  ,...........................not because I can then sell them back at a masive profit later  8O

I really don't understand why Rhino's are not allowed , the only thing that makes them so good on grass is that they have a square shoulder and so turn nicely, as far as damaging the ground goes having looked at my "clubsport" tyres vs the Rhino's , the clubsport tyres will rip up more grass etc .
As I said before , I'll buy any "useless" Rhino's people have for $5 each

Not at all useless, because
1) we may get a grass venue of our very own, on which we may run our usual tyre rules
2) We are awaiting Levin council, to get another paddock
3) Kapiti

Bear in mind that Silverstream isn't a HCCC venue, we're using it courtesy of another nice club that found the venue (thanks Victor) and agreed that we might use it.

So, be nice kids, we're getting a bloody cool venue to use for free, so stop your fricken biatching ;)

Sadly, the WRX will not be chasing the Panda around the paddock, DexGT. It will be on very sedate Mother's Day duties. Mrs toy_baru calls it the 'bumpy car' :?

I don't know why it breaks a lot. Hmmm... maybe before I break it again I should sell it? Any prolific car-sellers around?
