Haha, let me teach you lesson then. At least if you are going to resort to calling someone names make sure YOUR facts are straight, in this case you don't and it shows you up as the idiot.

lostslinky wrote:Where to start. The first three issues you listed were done via a CONSCIENCE vote where EVERY member of paliament votes and not on party lines. But yeah blame the labour party anyway

Where to start huh... If you had done any research you would know the Labour party pushed for the legislations being civil unions and prostitution. If you knew this you would also know that 90% of the Labour party AND green party members voted FOR them and nearly 90% of National party voted against them

lostslinky wrote:Helen Clark doesn't believe in Marriage  Best one Ive heard all day
She is MARRIED to Dr Peter Davis and has been for a heck of a long time.

Helen clark is married, yes i know that (as again I have done some research) and she herself has written (I'll find a link soon) she "doesn't believe in marriage and the only reason she got married was to stop people questioning her sexuality". She lives in the NI and he lives in CHCH, great marriage they must have.

lostslinky wrote:"in bed with tree hugging hippies" ROFL watch the news man or read the local paper or something!!!. This election term they are NOT in coalition with the greens as they had a falling out over genetic modification and cornogate.

See my point about labour AND greens on the civil unions and prostitution
Chances are they would need to go with them again if they got in this term.

lostslinky wrote:"NCEA screw up" NATIONAL introduced NCEA NOT LABOUR  Get that through your head man and also the report on NCEA found that regardless on whome would instigate the system there would have been problems.

NCEA was introduced in 2002, who was in Government in 2002, or 2001 or 2000?

Only 15% of people go on to univeristy education. Thats not all that much at all. As for the interest free loans its great and will help many more people with the cost of university. Don't even try to argue with me that you believe studetns will borrow more out of it and get into more debt as hopefully you have the intelligence to know thats incorrect....

Im not going to bother arguing, I'll tell you straight up. You'd be an idiot to go to Uni and not book up every possible cost you incur against your student loan, while keeping as much money in the bank and earning interest from it. And you're telling me this wont increase borrowing, riiiight.

Next?

Oh and here's some more good reasons not to vote for labour:

Or you could just rack up a 40k loan, get your PhD, leave the country, deam your self bankrupt in nz and come back in 3-5 years

Or The McGillicuddy Serious Party even ;) Now there's some policies worth voting for

Seems from the serious nature of the debate in this thread people have yet two learn the two inexorable truths about Elections, namely;
1. Don't vote, it only encourages them.
2. Don't vote, Governments always win

Where the equivalent to the Nats is firmly entrenched and the left is even more of a joke than NZ, and they can't even spell Labo(u)r.

Bit of a double standard there, or is it just NZ right wing politicians you dislike so much

Noone is telling you who to vote for but do it for the right reasons. Don't cast your vote due to half-truths , misconceptions etc....

As far as i know if you make more than ~16k a year you automatically pay back the loan so its not as if you can just not pay it back. There are also limits to the amount you can get per week 150 i think and ~1000 per year course related costs.

When declaring your Tax code, you have the option of M or ML (i think its ML), M is standard, Primary Income, The ML option, is if you have a student loan.

needless to say, all jobs im working / have worked, have all been M :).

Its probbaly going to nip me in the arse soon, but until then!

Im only on 18k a year right now too :( (but thats higher than the 16!)

Thanks for that Captian Obvious...but Cozmo is right, it's up to you to declare your tax code as M SL, if you don't, then you don't pay...it takes a few years for them to catch up on you with this, I know from experience...

Gives you a few years to work, save up some $$$ without paying any of your loan, and $&#$% off overseas at least...

...and everyone knows the limits on what you can get, if you'd bother to read posts it is talked about...

however that poll negates to have an option for those who are not supporting a party currently in parliament. I know of at least two people other than myself on trademe who wouldn't support any of the parties listed in the Trademe Poll
