Excellent way to increase power to weight ratio ... and you never seen a passenger so nervous when we go from 100km/h to 150km/h MID WAY through a passing manouver!!!
Don't tell anyone, but I bought a Corolla so I could beat some Hondas on TvH days :P

I've never known a car to take any hill at 100km/h while staying in 5th - I've always had to change down. In the GTO, you are doing 2,000rpm at 100km/h - put the foot down and it boosts!!! Peak torque at 2,500rpm ...

TurboFetish: I know you and most ppl here are all anti-V8's but your comment on no car goin up hill at 100km in 5th, got me thinking of my fathers series1 rx7.... picture this two ppl in the car goin up a pretty steep twisty road at 20ish in 5th at 800 revs!!!!!!!! and not slowing down!!!

It is a modified 4.5lt alloy v8 of course....(in a lightish body shell)

I love all cars really and dont understand how some ppl can dismiss v8's as dinosaurs when this one in particular eats flashy wrxs and gtir's :?:

sorry to ramble on......lol :)

I think a fast N/A car is shows that a bit more effort has gone into it

anyone can whack on a turbo

but the works altezza's last year were awesome
cleaned up most of the V8 tourers at manfield

not bad for a N/A 2L

and the V8's werent slow either
live fast, die sideways.

i think we're all a bit bias towards the car we drive!! i drive an N/a and voted as such, but i must admit if i could afford it and stuff id love to feel the turbo on an evolution 6 pushing me back in the seat oh hell yessssssssssssssssssss!!! pssshhh

Although anything forced sounds illegal, and you may be charged for that sort of misconduct!! 8O

My N/A 2L doesint slow for any hill in 5th I could even drive from akl to whangarei without changing (well if there wasint so much slow traffic on da road) as my car has power from 2Krpm-6Krpm.
Tho modifing will kill the good power range but I just want that 7Krpm power peak to woop ass when ready.

I make my $$$ building aftermarket performance V8s & as for ppl that dis V8s you havent driven a good one before tho even a bad runnin V8 kicks ass.

yeah i have, and i can say, even a bad runnin v8 is slow, let alone a good one!!!!in my opinion that is....
i have driven a few v8s, and i now would never buy one, you are pretty much riveted to poor economy, and they don't really even go that hard...

Poor N/A bastards spend a fortune getting extractors and new lumpy cams and crap like that and make like 10kW then the forced induction boys crankn up the boost and make at least 15 more kW for free!
Dig a hole for the next man and you'll fall in.

Some of the best engines in the world are V8's
Look at Lotus, TVR, Ferrari etc
ALthough they are in a completely different league to detroit iron
