annual classic jap new years meet Auckland 2008

Postby AE25 » Mon Dec 24, 2007 2:14 pm

ok i wanna get a meet happening around 1st or 2nd week of Jan... do it every year etc's. theres heaps of events in feb/march but nothing much start of jan. right before peeps start going back to work

aimed at anything old, rwd and japanese made (i say that loosely)

anyone know a good place.. a paddock, carpark or field somewhere close to aucks. must be legit

and whos keen? will have to get a bbq happening and all that. just park up and show ya car, talk crap, sell crap, whatever

what about opening it up for any toyotas? is there a reason for restricting it to old and rwd.

We know you have a fresh new car to show off, but lets let the old cars have some fun.

Have different eras parked in different areas (just wanted to type the tongue twister). I think the point is that it isn't an old toyota meet. No reason that you couldn't have 90's cars parked off to the side for a seperate show.

Old cars own new cars, whats the point in organsing a classic car event only to let new cars in? :?

keep it old and japanese, hopefully we can get this to be a big annual event were all the old dudes bring there mintas out!

I just love the old and RWD bit.

Does the wheels that are driven really make a difference to how old a car is.

Too hyped on caffiene.

I don't see why the Toyspeeders with newer cars can't have their own thing just slightly seperate from the older cars.

hey hey.. come on fellas, this is not a new vs old debate

this event also been posted on club-k and oldschool forums so far.. and it seems most people will miss it due to being away on extended holidays..
so hows sat 12th jan sound?
cornwall park by the round about/ bbq area (one tree hill) or got any more suggestions.. big carpark would be nice

its a classic jap thing. nothing against newer vehicles.. it's just simply because theres plenty of oldschoolers and not enough events to celebrate them!
so doesn't necessarily have to be rwd.. but generally anything pre '84 will be rwd anyway. oh and doesn't have to be toyota. i want to see as many datsuns, mitsi's, mazda's etc turn up too. if it has a cult following or lots of chrome w/ 8 valves and a carb then sweet!

so come one, come all, bring your ride if you have one. the aim is to get a row, carpark or field full of classic jappas.
should look a bit like this in future years
