Somehow I ended up on Symbolic Motors mailing list, and this is spam that I enjoy getting in my mailbox. They sell some very nice cars, only wish I could afford them.

Some of my favourites are;
1981 Ferrari 308/288 GTO/GTU IMSA Race Car It's given me some inspiration as to what to do with a certain red car ;)

Not even 350ps out of that Ferarri either, gen 2 3S will take it down easy :lol:

When I dropped my SW off at the panel shop they had a red 308 QV parked up with this plastic sheet over it looking a little bit sad in places. Immediately thought of you fivebob.

Didnt they make the muira for like 20+ years? like so so many different combinations

Murias were made in small numbers. Mostly in 2 variations I think. Plus a few specials for people like the Shah of Iran. A New Zealander was quite involved in developing some of them

Just throw a couple of turbos, or a supercharger on stock bottom end with 9.0:1CR, good for 600hp before you even need to think about pistons. ;)

It's really just two twin cam Fiat engines on a common crank. Only real problem with them is they're an interference engine, and the cam belt tensioner bearings fail, causing the belts to break, if you don't replace them at regular(30,000km?) intervals.

Hmmm spare parts... might be a better option than waiting for Ferrari to make the parts

Despite an average test-weight approaching 5,000 lb (2,300 kg), published performance test data shows the 1966 Toronado was capable of accelerating from 0–60 mph (0–97 km/h) in 7.5 seconds, and through the standing 1/4 mile (~400 m) in 16.4 seconds at 93 mph (150 km/h).[1] It was also capable of a maximum speed of 135 mph (217 km/h).[2] Testers found the Toro's handling, despite its noticeable front weight bias and consequent understeer, was not substantially different from other full-size American cars when driven under normal conditions. In fact, many contemporary testers felt that the Toronado was more poised and responsive than other cars, and when pushed to the limits, exhibited superior handling characteristics, although it was essentially incapable of terminal oversteer.

Jay Leno bought one converted it to rwd and chucked 1000hp in it, think it was on rides or one of those type of shows

Mates uncle got two Hillman imps, cut one in half length ways and slotted middle section of the other in to widen it. Used Toronado engine and box in the rear. Made for a pretty hairy dragster by all accounts. Was road legal too apparently
