Ideally I want to be able to re-register it. The reg has been expired for more than two years and not been on hold.

So basically if it hasn't been in a big stack and in good condition then it's be about $1500 to get it back on the road?

Who's bought a de-registered car?

Ok so I'm looking at a GTZ where the owner has let the registration lapse.

What do I need to know?

I assume that you don't/can't do a change of ownership?

What do you do?

Cheers

CV JOINTS and Safety

Just got quick question,

Both my CV joints in my corolla are clicking quite badly. I just got a new WOF from VTNZ but the wof checker said you could not fail a WOF on CV.

My question
Is it safe to be driving around with clicking CV's ?

Thanks
James

Yep take all the air filter assembly off, spray it all round the carb and rev it a bit when you spray it, itll blow white sh*t out of the exhaust, just wait till it burns it all away.

But first id change ya plugs etc first.

Cheers,

I've pulled the plugs out they seem all good. Is there ...

Try spraying CRC Clean-a-Carb into the Throttle Body. Open the butterfly right up and spray some in, possibly clean parts of the throttle body out with a rag. Then start the car up (it may not start first time; but it will start) and spray some in whilst the car is running. Then connect up the air ...

UPDATE,

I pulled the plugs out and they seem fine, good gap etc.

What does white dust/crap on spark plugs indicate? (running lean?)
could this be the cause of my missing/hesitation problem? (ie fuel)

I've done some more driving and i don't notice the missing in 1st gear but in second it's ...

maybe try draining your fuel tank to get rid of all those years of biult up sludge, then replace your fuel filter.
fuel filters are commonly neglected, and hey it could be the one from factory, and think of how many kms your car has done, and how much crappy fuel has been thru it!

haha thats ...

It seems to do it all the time hot/cold.

I think it seems ignition related to but pulled plugs and they are good, new dizy cap and rotor.

fuel filter looks very old ...

Hesitation Problem

Hey,

I just bought a toyota corolla liftback with 4A engine.

It has a pretty bad hesitation/miss between 2000-3500rpm, what should i start checking/replacing?

first thought was plugs?

Thanks

What i dont get is why a dealer would store a hundred cars over a long period of time. Surely that terriable business pracitice purely based on storage costs and the time value of money
