Anyone going to pick a part?

Anyone going to pick a part today?

Thanks

1973 Toyota Crown wheel questions

My brother has a 1973 Toyota Crown sedan. He's looking for some new wheels.
I'm assuming the stud pattern is 5x114.3?
Also what offset would suit? Looking at some 8" wide rims with a 0 offset.

Thanks

Re: Alto upgrades

Would love an electric car, perfect run about. Have the wagon for long distance.
Pity our government doesn't seem to want to support electric cars...

Re: Alto upgrades

I've seen motorbike engines put in them before, I've even seen one in the front and one in the back!
Lot of faffing around with the drive between the motorbike gearbox and wheels.
Pity one doesn't just bolt up to the current gearbox.

Re: Alto upgrades

I would love to convert it to electric, but would cost well more than the car is worth...
I just wish the Suzuki 3 cylinder cars were as spritely as the motorbike versions.

Re: Alto upgrades

Well the plan was to drive it into the ground, then look at an engine swap. Something small and high revving like a Honda motor. But whilst the car has done 175ks, due to regular servicing and maintenance it still runs perfectly, so will be running for a while yet fingers crossed.
It's the perfect ...

Re: Alto upgrades

Very serious

I've had the car for years, it has some Works 14" wheels to make it ride better. Radiator blew a while ago so it has a twin core alloy racing radiator for reliability, and that I got it for $160, and a factory replacement new was $800+! Has a few other small mods that have been had ...

Alto upgrades

So I have a 3 cylinder, 660cc Suzuki Alto as my daily. Been pondering making the car a bit more grunty lol.
Being the engine size it is, would it possible to fit a triple carb motorbike setup from a motorbike with similar displacement? Obviously an adapter plate would need to be made, but I'm all ...

SC14 questions

Getting my Mitsubishi Starion sorted. Been looking at different engine options. Probably going to stick with the 8v 4G63. However I've been thinking about ditching the turbo in favour of a SC14 supercharger.
Motor will be almost factory, not aiming for mass hp, just reliability... Going to be ...

Fuel pump swap question

Not a Toyota, but probably the same. My '99 wrx needed a new fuel pump, got a DW200, came with a wiring loom that meant I could plug it straight to the standard plug. So I used it.
However the factory loom piece had this little black box plugged into the side, not in line and I don't know what it ...

Re: Gearbox failure

My old familia did this, ok when accelerating in a straight line, but coasting, decelerating, accelerating whilst cornering made some awful noises.
Turned out the bearings had collapsed and diff had lunched itself.

Hard wiring a solar trickle charger

Is there a way that you could hard wire a solar trickle charger without a switch?
One of my cars gets used very little, so I bought a solar trickle charger to keep the battery ticking over. The I instructions say not to turn the car on with it connected, fair enough, I was thinking of putting a ...

Ok I will look into that.
Would it be better going to a cheaper lead acid if that's the case?

Still would like to rule out the alarm too.

Re: Draining battery

Oh and the battery is about 2-3 years old.
But it's had the proper testing 2 times and come back 100% both times. So I ruled out the battery.

Re: Draining battery

Pretty sure it's 600cca. It's a fully sealed battery.
If the car is left for more than a day without being started, by the second day it's dead flat.
The car tends to only get used in the weekend, and yes it does get decent runs.

Re: Draining battery

Unfortunately it was just a cheapy one I borrowed since mine went missing, so wasn't able to check the draw properly.
I've had the battery checked properly twice, and twice it came back 100% fine.
But it did start happening all of a sudden, as if something pooped itself.
