Is there a good website or literature for a step by step guide to servicing a 4AGE 16v. I've got a bit of mechanical knowledge, but just want to get a bit of a process as in what order to do things in etc.

I haven't answered it yet, but have a guy asking if these would fit the standard blacktop bore?

On the net I have found the standard bore size of 81mm

On the box of my pistons its says 3.209 inches, which when converted to mm is 81 ...

D1 - In terms of recond/ rebuild were you referring to my gearbox? Or engine?

Its an old as shit engine thats leaking everywhere - so I presumably thought rebuild - but what is the difference between that and a recon?

One more thing to add - i like these sportmaxx wheels - what offset etc should I be lookin at for my car? I like the bit of dish too as opposed to a flat profile.

If I were to get her rebuilt, where would you guys suggest? Auckland region.

I am looking for a place that does a solid job but not with a massive bill at the end of it.

I filled my car up from a constant orange fuel light, so as dry as I deared to get it.

Went to Caltex

Used 95 @ $2.069 per litre

Filled the car up - 36.416 Litres @ $75.34

Drove it until I was just below a ...

I guess this could be the cause of the high fuel use? Somethings a bit stuffed e.g. AFM, and causing it to over fuel?

I will do a test in the next week or 2, driving to and from work and starting the first morning on empty. Get some accurate km's to money spent.

Steel and Tube off cut bins are good - the pipes are fine, sometimes just have little chips or scratches, which you can polish out ofcourse.

What do you mean by wet or dry?

It was done on a farely warm engine, all spark plugs out, foot flat on gas and let it "chug" about 5 times, or until the gauge stopped at a number

Yer I guess the gauge could have been bad, but it did read almost exactly 240 across all 4, which I guess means ...
