Re: blacktop rebuild

I have good condition silvertop block with black top pistons I was going to use for a big build but have gone with a 2ZZ. Also have a really good condition blacktop head and other bits.

On another note I am selling the engine I had assembled to go in which has a lot of bits in and on it. 7A sump ...

Re: AE101 rear brake upgrade

It was in the AE82, went to GTZ twin pots with yellow stuff pads and the rear was horrible so upgaded that to bigger AE101 set up and matching pads. As you already have those rears I don't know a bolt on upgrade, would personally go twin pot rears in your case, will need to faff around to make it ...

Re: AE101 rear brake upgrade

When I did my front brake upgrade in the FX race car I found I was locking front very easy with standard rear brakes. Upgraded the rears and it settled it all down :)

Re: fitting e58 gearbox to 20v

20V and E series box is not a good combo. Are you wanting to do this simply for the LSD? Can't think of any other benefit however you will loosed much more than you will gain doing this, factory torsen diff C56 or aftermarket LSD is the way to go if that is what you are after.

Re: AE101 SuperStrut 275mm Disc Centre Bore Size

Good to know, we should compile an accurate list of parts to help others know what works.

Yes the performance of the two calipers would be similar however can anyone think of other advantages/disadvantages with either one? The ST202 calipers have more cooling fins for instance but are probably ...

Re: AE101 SuperStrut 275mm Disc Centre Bore Size

Hey guys

Time to bring up this old thread! Have finally found some twinpots from a SS Curren so thought they would be same as fitted to SS ST202. However, the carriers are no different to the AE101 carriers unlike in photo above. Were the ST202 brackets pictured above from a SS ST202 or non SS? The ...

Thanks for the name drop

Yup still keen to help fellow Toyspeeder's in this area. PM me and we can get in contact to go over options and pricing. I will only use good product, so don't have any "grabone" pricing you may have seen in mind but will do a good deal on the protection level you want and ...

Re: 4AGE 20V Performance - What have you got?

I and other people have had issues with the blacktop hydraulic tensioner so switching to silvertop timing gear (also have to change oil & water pumps) has been a good switch. Just have to be careful as timing marks on oil pump and cam sprocket are in a different position so make sure you use the ...

Re: Long shifter cables or extending cables

Had thought about the Sw20 ones, would be good to have a play with them if anyone has a spare set?

It doesnt matter which end I extend as the hole I am running them trough in the firewall is custom and just need to move the shifter back 300mm to new seating position. Welding two sets together ...

Long shifter cables or extending cables

Hey guys

I need a pair of long shifter cables to suit C56 gearbox. AE111 are longest I have found so far, does anybody know of or have a longer pair?

The other option and probably needed is to extend the cables. Does anyone know where this can be done?

Thanks

ECU would be my guess also, followed closely by AFM which would give exactly the symptoms you have described.

Re: Weird Alarm Issue

Hi Dean

It sounds like a siren fault to me, battery back up is kicking in due to a loss of connection most probably due to water damage or loose wiring connection. What model of alarm is it?

Joys of cheap alarms, they have normally closed relays so loss of power equals immobilisers closed and useless...... 8)

Re: Basic alarm upgrades

You can use any of the AVS alarm accessories if you were wanting to add to the Uniden although it would have been more cost effective and reliable to just start with an AVS alarm :)
