Re: Opinions: Fiat Stilo Abarth

If it was for me I'd look at any of the manuals as they seem to be a safer bet, and the largest diesel seems to be only marginally slower than the abarth. But for the wife it has to be auto or triptronic/flappy paddle as she's useless with a manual. Clutch and smooth gear throw at the same time ...

Re: Opinions: Fiat Stilo Abarth

Okay had a look about the selespeed gearboxes and that definitely put me off. Far to finikity and maintenance intensive for me. Seems they tried to make it as unreliable as possible, then backed off a bit.
Might just point her back in the direction of a yaris.

Opinions: Fiat Stilo Abarth

Wife is looking at getting a car, and the other day we saw one of these driving around and she liked the look of it. She had a bit of a look on trademe and saw the abarth versions are going for around 5k, which seems bloody cheap for a car of it's age and apparent pep. Is it because there's ...

I thought they were 40 or 45 litre tanks in the 101 Fxgt's?

Used to get just over 400k out of a tank of gas around town, from petrol light to full back to petrol light. Not totally accurate way of measuring, but a good approximation. would go down to 350 if I was putting my foot down all the time.
Was about 450-500k out of a tank on the open road.
Both ...

Does taking off the manifold off and doing the cleaning thing solve the intermitent loss of acceleration problem in GDI legnums?
Mitsis are weird with their issues.

Should have stuck with a good ol Toyota, but lessons learned and all that.

Unless you're scrimping on the hookers, that doesn't add up

Its Dunedin, you just have to go to the right bar at the right time, buy some drinks, and you'll find something better than 90% of hookers that'll give it up for free

Wasn't an LSD a factory option on the ae101 Levin GT Apex and FXGT's?
It seems the AE111's go in the upto 2L class due to having over the power per litre rules of this series.
So if you were going down that route a 101 would seem logical. Plus I think weren't they 50kg lighter than the 111's?

It would almost be worth taking a sketchy as hell car to a P.O.T event... cracked brake lines.. a bald tyre or two... an oil leak for good measure plus anything else you just wouldnt to be around a car with. Do the "self scrutineering" and park it up as you're sent out onto the track and ask ...

I have plus 100's in and have used them in all my cars since the early 2000's wouldn't even think about anything else.
Would get plus 120's if they'd had them in stock when I needed them. Just so much better than standard, especially on rural roads at night. Don't dazzle people anymore than normal ...

Perhaps ring/call in to Bad Boy mowers in CHCH, I know they often have stuff coming back from the bay into CHCH and sending stuff up, you might be able to come to a deal with them to have an engine added to one of their freight halls.
They use TNL, and we used them to move our stuff to the NI, they ...

I thought it had just been sold recently? Has it gone bankrupt again?

From memory the local council has been limiting its use for race meetings due to noise complaints (sounds familiar!), and has said if it closes it would like to build housing on the land. Conflict of interest much?

I think the comment about being technically force inducted is about the fact the supercharger presurises the engine above normal intake pressures.
I'm sure someone with more technical know how will say it better, or tell me I'm talking out my arse

The idea of making smaller form engines also ...

I agree with Sergei, that road should be 100, only reason its not is the cost to fix it, so NZ being the cheap asses we are, lower the speed limit. All the major turn offs should be round abouts at the very least, or preferably proper interchanges, and all of the proposed safety changes should be ...

Average NZ car owner is a retard (probably same in the rest of the world) who would have no idea what very obvious problems their car has and won't notice bald tyres/$&#$% tierods/rooted suspension. This will just increase the timeframe in which they are made aware of the faults in their vehicles ...
