4K internally regulated alternator

Hi all, I've done a search and been through the first 20 odd pages but can't seem to find any info on this topic.

Has anyone changed their externally regulated alternator for an internal one? If so what did you use? I've got a beach buggy with a 4K and really want to tidy up the wiring and if I can ...

I have 205/60/15 on mine currently. Was thinking of going to 215/40/18 and free springs from mag and turbo but dont wanna have to deal with tyre rubbing etc... Anyone know what offset ill need to avoid it?? And if they only give you one sort of spring etc... or which is better if they have a couple ...

My Caldina is shocking on gas. I get like 270-300ks for $70 around town and that doesnt really change for open road driving... And thats not boostn everywhere either... :? Oh well, the price of boost i spose...

$22G does sound quite high to me for a 2001. I got mine (just over a year ago) for $15500. Granted its only a 98 and had done 80 000ks but the 2000/1 facelift models i was looking at were still only about $18-21G from memory. I managed to get a 3 year unlimited km warrantly from NZ Drive for $1G ...

Am now the proud owner of a 1998 GTT Caldina and i must say that im very impressed with how it goes. No prblems with passing on the open road.

there are not many places in the world where you can drive 3 hours and be at a ski field and drive 15 mins and be at a beach...

try 10mins to your choice of one of 3 _proper_ surf beachs

or a hour to some snow

rock on new plymouth

One of the few other places... Been to New Plymouth and must ...

Yea, Himiz is 20 mins from Maxwells Line to the first judder bar and often less... :D But like you said thats from the outskirts almost. But it is very easy to do it under 20... :D And probably will be a whole lot easier in the new Caldina... :D

Thats what alot of people have told me too.

But this guy has been in the industry for 30+ years. The guy that put me onto him has used him for the last 10 and has never been put crook by him. At some point you have to trust him... :D

The one that im looking at has the paddles on the steering wheel too... I know its auto but its a damn good deal so im thinking im gonna go for the GTT. My vehicle broker says he hasnt seen one this good for ages. also says its the quickest one hes driven too.
