I did think of that - tried a few but no emails or phone calls back.

I will keep pondering on what to do!

You can try them since they are in Christchurch. What exactly are u trying to do?

Basically my dash has been hacked and deep scratched on the bar above the glove box, around the stereo and around by the air vents. It's all a one piece.

I could paint it myself but ...

Yup, that was the plan. Purchased 2 secondhand dashs in the past months shipped down from Auckland, both have been in pretty average condition themselves despite having them described as great condition.

Got a quote from a Toyota Dealer for a dash and was looking at about $2000 from Japan ...

Dash Repairs/Restoration - CHCH

Hi all,

I've inherited a rough dashboard and console in my Altezza and it's time to tidy it up.

Was considering doing it myself but am perfectionist and will most likely cock it up. Can anyone recommend anyone or a place that deals with such work?

Cheers Hayden

Indicator Problem

Hopefully somebody could enlighten me.

When i'm indicating left or right it seems to the indicator makes a jamming sort of sound. It does this for both sides. However the right side is worse as it doesn't lock in unless you physically hold it down, it's like it won't lock in? Left's not so bad it ...

The oil seems fine to me.

Coolant was replaced last week and does look a perfect green.

Strange thing did happen though earlier. It got very dirty inside of the reservoir today. Best way to describe it is a smudge. But it is at the top above where the coolant sits. Even when the car is warm it ...

Coolant and Oil Question

I recently changed the coolant in my car. And some of it disappeared..

So on further inspection I found a crack at the top of my radiator. So when the cooling system was full it would drip out of the top tank until it wasn't full no more, therefore no pressure at the top of radiator pushing the ...

Gauge Trouble

Coupe of the gauges are playing up in the girlfriends car.

The gauges in question are the fuel gauge and the temp gauge and they both sit next to each other also.

Apparently it just happened over night.

The temp gauge has just completely stopped and fuel gauge reads 3/4 when the tank is ...

Odometer Repair Question

I have a very strange odometer problem.

It sometimes just completely stops and jams up and then later on starts up again.

I've done a bit of research and I think it's a very small drive gear that sits behind the dial. Apparently due to the heat etc it can lose shape hence why my odometer stops ...

Must be a buggered amp. Only getting 2V on the remote terminal on the amp when on. Gets 6V on the old amp and 10V on the wire by it's self.

Thanks for your help guys!

Thanks for all your responses.

Will check the ground tomorrow again.

Couldn't I assume all the cables etc are sweet considering we have a different amp using the all exact same cables fine?

Or can different amps be more touchy than others in regards to connections etc?

He was using the exact same wires from the old amp so would that mean all the wiring is possibly ok?

So that small wire on the RCA is a remote wire? He already has a remote wire connected to the amp so that is not required correct?

Both LED's won't light up. Maybe it is a buggered amp? I will ...
