I'm gonna take the POS 1984 si civic this time, it was pointless taking my stock WRX for the 20th January Drags and racing in the 4wd turbo class, i'll have a better chance in the old sh1ter in FWD na class.

Think i'll do 3x Hard out runs with redline launch.. then take it easy for the DYO, although i find it hard it get off the line well without doing a hell launch, it always bogs down, or i slip the clutch too much and it smells bad.. lol

No engine mods, but the cusco front lsd helps it launch better it would seem.. although launch aint everything I guess.
It has a few STi bits, ie steering rod/arms etc. but yeah nothing that helps straight line speed :(

ahh good ole cartest, i've had this program for about 5 years now
its not that accurate. it can't emulate traction that well etc.

it said my WRX should do 13.7, i did 13.57 in real life.

Why not an MR2 GT, has the same model engine as the GT4, but the car is lighter and more realiable (in my opinion) and uses less fuel (thanks to only being rwd and not 4x4)

My advice is keep the car you have, i've been down this road before, your current car will go for years without needing to have a fortune spent on it you could get a decent gearbox for it for $500 probably (which is nothing compared to the cost of keeping a GT4 maintained etc).
If you buy a GT4 ...

yeah, well its more of a tapping than a knocking..
but i thought if it was bearings that it would do it all the time or noisy on startup and then get quieter.
I just dropped it off to me mates to check out.. will see how it goes :)

Starlet Turbo S Engine Knock

I bought this cheap starlet, due to the fact it has an engine knock.

It makes a loud kinda tap tap tap tap noise when its idling, for say 10seconds, then the noise goes away for about 15 seconds, then comes back, then goes etc.

Whats this most likely going to be?
Run a bearing I'm guessing ...

The 20v trueno./levins etc will never have the low down torque of a 2litre Celica (even my old 1986 one felt like it had alot more low down than me 20v), however the levin is still quicker (if u thrash it) my 0-100 took 8.6 in the celica, takes 7.4 in the levin.
The Celica doesn't really have any ...

1. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 603362.htm Buy this for $4200 (cheaper than spending $5000 on yours). This gets you a 92 Facelift RS Legacy Sedan, (non of this auto shit).

Sell yours.

Spend the $ from the sale of your one on the RS in this ad.

3 litres!- to top up to max level?
for future refference, dont let the car get that low on oil, its fairly bad for it!

Nah - it was just an oil change. I have never had a car go below 'low' (even though they often can without damage).

Thats the gay thing - Honda with 220000kms on the clock - 2L ...
