Had 1 part of my new diff build arrive for the mx5. 4.778:1 ratio ring and pinion.

Took my car on gumboot rally, did 700k's over 2 days from Westgate up to Paihia then back down to Dairy Flat.

Temp sensor, air lock or waterpump?

This weekend finally got around to fitting my ssr's

Yesterday had a spare head arrive for the starlet so i can start doing some n/a work on it.

Also had a lightweight flywheel made up.

Yeah for some reason mazda put in taller springs in throughout the years, the height issue will be sorted shortly,
just need to send 1 of my coilovers off for testing to make sure its still usable after the crash

On the test drive I only noticed 3rd gear. A mate has recommended a guy out west auckland.

Today I picked up a c160 lsd gearbox for the starlet
Need to get some synchros fixed in it but the plan is to get a lightweight flywheel and new clutch before chucking it in

Yep, thats what it felt like, might order a proper nardi next month. Dont really know what i expected from a cheap chinese wheel which a mate sold to me.

Reinstalled a lot of parts, took some parts off my old shell and discovered my steering wheel is made of cheese.
Folded it in half trying to get the hub off the splines.

Dont know how im going to fit them but i agree they look cool! They are 14x8.5 -7 ssr mk1's

Earlier in the week got my radiator shortened by 75mm either side so i can run intercooler piping either side of it.
Today i welded up some radiator brackets to suit and got some new wheels.
Going to get some rubber mounts tomorrow so i can mount it up properly.

Bit too late now, sump is on and engine is back in the car.
A lot of mx5 people have done it this way and not had problems.

Didnt have any proper loctite at the time so its just thread taped in there, sump is aluminum not steel which is why its not welded in

Yeah just threaded in there, 1/2" BSP taper thread, so seals on itself as its wound in

Yes its a rear sump bowl, made sure it was above the oil line, in hindsight I could have put it a bit higher but had to avoid the windage tray.

While the engine was out drilled and tapped the sump for an oil return fitting.
All ready to go into the new shell tomorrow after work.

Both my cars dont have the locking washers, just used loctite and tightened them as much as i was comfortable with

Was told it was a T25 when i bought it, 0.8 A/R inlet, 0.64 A/R exhaust
