Re: IMPORTANT: TOYSPEED FORUM WIND-DOWN | Join us on Faceboo
A very sad sign of the times, even more so for those of us who choose not to use "social media" This place has been a serious ghost town for the past few years so I completely understand the decision. Its a huge shame, as forums are laid out so much better for storing information, and having ...

Re: When do you draw the line with your car? (Daily driver)
This thread poses a very interesting question, and one we have probably all asked ourselves at some point. This post is a bit drawn out, so apologies for that, but most of it is pertinent to the OP's question hahaha.

Re: 1JZ running hot on track, IC blocking radiator?
Do you have your under-body shrouds in place? They are fairly crucial for keeping temps down.
Also, the factory clutch fan and shroud is far less restrictive than the electric set up you have. Any chance of putting back on the factory bits and doing a comparison?
There are plenty of A80's running ...

Re: Turbo spin at idle - resistance
My JB China special that I bought a decade ago, didnt spin at idle when it was a fresh install, but for the past few years, it has spun at idle, and for quite a while upon shut down. I imagine yours just needs a few kms on it before it does the same

Re: What did you do to your car today?
I have always bled my JZA80 while facing up an incline, for this reason. Speeds up the burping process massively. Also, using a burping funnel helps a lot too.
Glad that you sorted it out, Matt.

Nice score, mate. Its always nice to have OEM parts, even if they just stay under the bench for the time being.

Good workshop in Wellington for rebuilding a carburetor?
Hi TS'ers,
a friend of mine recently bought a 1988 Hilux (one owner, garaged its entire life, and with a full service history etc) but he told me its been running a bit rough lately, and it needed to have the choke on in order for it to start, and stay running, even when it was warm, so I had a ...

Re: What did you do to your car today?
What a complete joke.
It seem that there are so few good panelbeaters/painters out there these days. They seem to be nearly all after the quick buck doing insurance jobs for people that will never know what to look for in a quality repair. Missing screws and clips and things hanging off etc seems ...

Re: Power steering experts in Wellington
Agreed, mate. I know the South Coast is very harsh, but in my defence, Im extremely fastidious when it comes to keeping my car as safe as possible from the elements (think: removing all trims and seals and door rubbers periodically, to clean any built up dirt from under them to prevent rust, and ...

Re: Power steering experts in Wellington
Thanks for the info, Sergei.
Luckily the leak is coming from one of the hard lines that goes between the steering column, and the rack...it was rusted through, just like every one of my brake lines and fuel lines, that I had to replace a little over a year ago.
Its a real shame that Toyota didn't ...

Re: Power steering experts in Wellington
Thats what I am hoping it will be. After doing some reading last night, a few chaps found that one of the hoses had rusted out so they just hacksawed it off and joined a 3/8th rubber line to it. Fingers crossed it is that simple

Power steering experts in Wellington
Hi there TS'ers
My SXV10 Camry has decided to spring a rather large PS fluid leak, so something in the system needs work.
Im going to get underneath it today to see if I can identify where the leak is coming from, but Im presuming it will be the seals in the pump that have gone, which will mean a ...

Agree ^
One only has to look at how small the Honda Civic radiators were during the 90's, to see how well a small/thin core can shed heat.
