Auckland Meets, Have your say!

Postby Adydas » Fri Aug 24, 2007 7:12 pm

Been thinking and i want to put a change option infront of you guys.

Its no secret Over the past few years intrest has died down and im proposing a time change to hopefully introduce more regular meets.

So Help me out here guys, what do you rekon.. Im thinking things like Do we make it Fortnightly? do we make it 8pm not 9pm? do we change the day?

what works for you out there that will turn up if its suitable, i know my new job starting at 7am isnt a good reason for me to be in town at 9pm getting home well after.

Friday night = drinking night. But those nights I do decide to stay sober I'd probably make meets, esp if it was on a f/nightly basis.

wednesdays are good as they break up the week, but for more turnout friday would be the way to go. Getting up at 5:50am on thursday morning sucks big time after a TS meet finshes (with a couple of cappuccinos from maccas) earlier that same morning.

I guess now that summer is coming up people will get out more.
I say 8 is better than 9 and i think it still needs to be a weekly thing but maybe the odd larger meet up (say one weekend once a month) where different areas of the north island all meet up in one place. This would provide a time for cruises/events and those ace summer bbq's with L&P.

If its over a saturday night then Girvs can still have a few drinks and not worry about driving home. :D

Because of other commitments (she who must be obeyed) wednesday is a no go for me. Friday nights are a bit easier (well... fridays are the easiest night to do it for me - but nights dont really work that well).

Saturday early afternoons like the go karting thing suit me better :D

There will be a recall on the "1st of the month Cruises" this means every First saturday of the month there will be a day event like the gokarting involving a cruise etcetc..

Im talking soley a week / fortnightly meeting day and time that would gain the most intrest.. i certainly think 8pms the better call.. this means early workers can still be in bed by 10 to get a decent nights sleep after chilling out for a good hour..

Do we want to try 8pm on a wednesday night and see what happens?

screw 8pm on a Wednesday, you'll get no more of a turn out than you would on a 9pm Wednesday. Try an 8pm Friday meet first up and see how it goes. More people are indicating Friday is suitable.

I can't make it for the next two weeks due work commitments. I will however be able to attend the meets afterwards, either 8pm or 9pm is good for me :)

Well im sure if we can get 5-7 people showing up regularly and posting the next day about what a good meet it was, others would read the comments and possibly show up, just to see what the fuss is about..

Wednesday is sweet. Friday is sweet too. 9pm is ideal for me as i work 11.30am - 8.30pm.. But if you moved the time to 8pm, it would simply mean im half an hour late. id still come

Just commit a date and a time. and ill be there
