Ha, didn't think it would take long. I hope they're planning on rebuilding it though, because at 270k it would be pretty well shagged (unless of course it has been replaced at some point).

sweet, what's the interior in it like? Is the car still relatively in-tact (i.e. not likely to be removed before the weekend?)

I didn't look inside the interior today, but the majority of the exterior parts are still on it so I'd say the interior would be relatively intact too. What are you after in particular? I can have a look to see if it's still there when I go back again this week if you like.

Ha, didn't think it would take long. I hope they're planning on rebuilding it though, because at 270k it would be pretty well shagged (unless of course it has been replaced at some point).

Indeed it's going to be rebuilt and fitted in a fellow member's rwd starlet. He compression checked it and its fine. water system looked like it'd never seen antifreeze though and already had head frost plugs replaced. Everything else seemed in good cond. c56 going to be stripped down and checked over as a replacement for my ae82 20v. loom/ecu going in the ae82. The king spring superlow's from it went straight in my FX that night heh. was surprised to see it still complete mid saturday 8O was a busy weekend  cheers Kiwi-Corolla for the heads up.
if i had spare cash, the set of BZR wheels would've gone too. had $150 on em with barely warrantable tyres

Great to hear that it went to a member of the forums! :D. The car was completely surrounded in large puddles of water when I was there (deeper than my shoes) so I didn't even think about checking the springs, but good to hear they turned out to be decent ones and that you ended up getting them 8). I was surprised that it didn't have the black housing headlights, so they must have been replaced at some stage. Thanks for letting me know who the motor and box went to. Makes me glad to know that my posts are coming in useful (and made it worth getting my socks wet too ).

Talked to at least 3 toyspeed members on the sunday coming to grab engine parts from it so your posts are definately helpful. I almost wander how you get the time for so many visits! I overspend everytime so try not go too often.

@ Malcolm - I went back and had a look at the Mark II Qualis this morning and the interior is surprisingly intact. There's virtually nothing missing, apart from a couple of small things like a fog light switch and a rear ashtray. The carpeted armrest with the fold-out double cup holders is still there, which would be a nice addition to your Camry if it fits.

Haha, those geese are a pain in the ass. They usually stand by the entrance/exit and try to peck me on the way out. Had to hit one with my toolbox last time. Apparently when the owner's of PaP bought the land one of the conditions of the sale was that the geese must stay . Wow, very cool to know that there were a number of people there from TS. I'll have to set up one of those PayPal 'Donate' buttons in my signature. Haha, just kidding, as long as my posts are coming in helpful to people I'll continue doing what I'm doing :)

Nothing new to report at both the Takanini and Mangere yard.

I heard that car wreckers aren't allowed dogs anymore. and geese were good at making noise when intruders are on site.

Image Ain't that the truth. Would be cheaper to feed too, and don't run the risk of causing life threatening injuries (unless of course they pecked your eye out ). Didn't see them at Mangere today fortunately. They must have been hiding under some of the cars down the back.
