The Corolla Gives up :-(

Postby B1NZ » Mon Jul 17, 2006 10:11 pm

Had another run at the Kapiti autocross track yesterday, Stace was set to go out after me, so i went out for the practise run, Got 1/2 a lap into it and lost 2nd gear, Changed to 1st, then went to 3rd, then 1st dissapeared -

so day over for that car,
ended up driving a loaner car and i beat the owner by a few split seconds hehe

Still got another gearbox today so all is not bad 8)

Bad luck Skip!

But look on the bright side, you've still got a wee way to go to catch up to my trail of 4age/fwd gearbox destruction

I do :P 2nd gear syncros have been stuffed for a while, makes noises when shifting into 2nd quickly unless you do 5 second gear changes.
Speedo stopped working last weekend then the rest died,
Do you have any idea how hard it is to drive home from Paraparaumu with the lowest gear you can use being 3rd

So really it was a good thing you didn't buy those tyres. Stink about the box at least you got a car where parts are a plenty for them
