I'm very keen to bring the KP out for a (no doubt uncompetitive :P) play, will try to drag some of the Palmy contingent out!

So if it's my first event ever, I don't need affiliation with a club? My AROCNZ subs have lapsed  That said, the Alfa is a better grass weapon than the KP, but I'm not keen on filling it full of mud again.

Hope to see you all there.

You're allowed to do your first two of such events without joining a MSNZ club, to give you a chance to dip your toes in the water, so you are more than welcome to come play.

Usual rules ... no rally tires, must be 100% cotton overalls, no antique crash helmets etc.

Hey what happens with me, i just realized my manawatu car club membership has lapsed and i'm not joining them again but goin to levin club instead but i need to get a into g and do all the stuff but probably won't have it by then - can i be a sort of member in limbo club for the day??

Good luck with that i've been trying to do that for ages but it seems they are mostly to soft for this sort of thing - i should (provided i'm allowed to run leon) have the datsun there to give you some competition at the uncompetitive circle turning end of the field :)

No worries, if you can't sort out membership formally by then, there is generally somebody from the Levin committee not too far away.

Leon - I take it that no news is good news in terms of condition of the padock given the recent amount of water failing from the sky ?

Assume extra hands can be put to good use like last time?

Yep, and yep.

Hopefully the paddock conditions are nicer underfoot than our last one.

8O - Fork me, at this rate Leon the padock up there is going to need to be 10 times bigger to accomodate all.

Apologies on not making it up to give ya a hand, chest infection saw me sleeping a majority of the weekend.

Yes indeed, she is becoming a very popular event :)

Results to follow.

Didn't get any pictures on the day, because it was just so busy.

Running two cars at once did get us through the queue a lot faster, but was very hard to organise, as we then needed three people running stuff (two on stopwatches and timing, and one person arranging the queue into pairs of a similar time).

Still, 32 entries, 11am start due to people arriving late, and we were all wrapped up by 3pm. I'm pretty pleased with that. The course was a bit of a giggle too, with some nice bumps to unload the suspension just as you came into a corner.

Not sure that the "lots of revs 20 valve" motor is suitable for that venue in winter though. Too much noise, and not enough forward motion. Might be ok in summer though, when it is much drier.

Hehe Leon , I don't think anything was good for much but "lots of noise and not much forwards " , the rutts into the hairpin were fun though, too bad they didn't finish pointing me the way i wanted to go 8O .
Thanks for another great event Leon
