good cheap place to stay in wellington near town

hey

as subject says, i'm looking for a place to stay in wellington (end of february, planning head ). probably a back packers as it's for 6 people all coming from christchurch. was thinking a back packers but have no idea what one so any suggestions would be appreciated. close to town would be good because we won't have a vehicle and then don't needa taxi in on fri/sat nights

Nomads, is a awesome place to stay, resonable rates, $22 a night i think, right in the middle of town, and unlike usual backpackers, its a little flasher than a doungy old room with bunks.

heaps of foreign girls stay there too, they also have a decent bar too

quite a few backpackers right by the entertainment area.
base is a big one.
