doesnt have to be pretty i have failed work on rust in the gutter on my trueno in the boot part of the gutter needs to have a new peice cut out and welded in and a rust hole welded up

its on the u part of the gutter on the winscreen side should be able to get a mig in there to weld the hole up

I think what he's meaning is how close is to the screen ie will the heat from the welding be likely to crack the screen or slight warping of the welded parts cause it to crack. Pretty sure distrbs trying to figure out if the screen would need to come out to get the job done

bit hard when i dont have a digi cam at the mo and the cars in storage the rusty patch is roughly the size of a 10-20c peice but only has a small hole through tho and the rusty gutter is probibly 5-7cm at the most is rusted away where the rubber goes on and partly goes round the corner on the rhs by the rear screen

anyone just have to do the gutter its about 7 cms in total just needs a strip of mild steel like 10mm wide welded in where there is gutter missing this is the only thing left for my wof i sanded back the suposed hole and it was just a deep rust pit about 1.5 - 2mm wide so i just painted it

Why is that a WOF issue?

I had big holes in mine 2, i just cut most of the rust out and glued in some new metal under it. isnt structual and was just causing major leaks. bog over it, sand, paint and your done
