What ideas have you been bouncing around mate? When? what? Or not that far advanced yet?

Ill be happy to get involved if it looks like it isnt going to turn into one of those "impossible to please everybody and nobody will commit" scenarios ;)

if the megameet is in wellington, then i have to finish the car to make it. There is little excuse not to finish if its in my backyard :(

Well personaly thinking, gymkana or autocross (possible waiting for Chells or Leon to step into the thread for this?) karting (the one at Kaiwharawhara?) Laser tag or paint ball, Scavenger hunt.
Those are just some of the ideas, as for date will be looking at the traditional Labour weekend.

if it is labour weekend, it is highly likely that there is already going to be port road street sprint on the sunday with a motorkhana/autocross on the monday run by HVMC at silverstream (unless the weather is poos)

could piggyback on the motorkhana/autocross if you wanted i'd think. HVMC would be happy for the extra entries. Most if not all motorsport affiliated toyspeeders will probably be at those events that weekend anyway. i know i will be.

as Andrew has said, there is a triathon of racing events likely on that weekend. Perhaps if people wanted to do some racing of their own cars, they can get involved that way rather than trying to run an event for the benefit of maybe 8-10 people?

Go karting is always good fun and easy to run though.

Getting a venue to race a full size car around here is nigh impossible though.

Should be able to make it if this goes ahead... Can't see any immediate problems with the Supra that would stop me, so that just leaves whether or not I'll have anything on at Uni. :)
Cheers,

I think this would be an excellent idea.

As above, good idea. That way no one has to fork out big bucks and hope that people actually pay up.

An autocross out on the sealed surface at Trentham would be sweet.

If we have a sealed event I might need to bring along the standard supra wheels with the tyres that are in need of punishment :D

Would be nice to just show up to a megameet without having to do any organising, super keen!

Slipway autocross not an option? Always wanted to have a go.
Either way.... sounds good.

Slipway has been shut down for 18 months due to the Zealandia c units appealing the resource consent. Court battles ongoing with NO sign of a solution in sight.

I will see if I can get info on the other event already running that same weekend - much better chance of just entering that than trying to run a completely separate event (due to lack of any venues)

Ok well if people want motorsport, HVMC have confirmed they are running a double header on the Monday.

At this stage, motorkhana (slaloms and stuff) and an autocross (make track with cones drive it as fast as possible) *both* on tarmac.

Probably about $40 or so (total guess).

Helmet + Overalls needed for autocross (but not for motorkhana).

Guess I should drag out the MR2 if it's on tarmac. No way I can use it on grass or gravel roads now. It just plows the centre of gravel roads, and that's without the front lip which will be the lowest part of the car when it's back on.
