somethings just up with your car, i have no idea what it is, the hoosiers should be fine on your setup with your power :? and shouldn't need that much revs, will be interesting to see how well they go if you do use them jeremy

Nah by all accounts the track was stupidly sticky in the weekend....the CBR 323 ran an 8.7, pretty damn quick for a untubbed car!

I got a video on my phone of it doing two wheelies back to back in the same run :P So yeh track had some serious grip. I was launching at 6k, seemed about right for my car. Your car should have heaps more torque down low than mine so you shouldnt be needing to launch at crazy high revs.

It had to be as it was a full NZDRA event and they had the big boys running.

Its also the first time Masterton will host the NZDRA nationals in march so I guess they wanted to prove that they could run a sticky track for all the purpose built drag cars which it seemes to succeed with a track record been set in the weekend

Ohh and Edyn maybe a wee bit more pressure in the fronts = less grip and hopefully not so much bogging down............ahh the joys of FWD drag racing

i was at 7500 and ran the 13.5, thought...hmm more revs, better 60ft, better et, reved to 8500 and done a 13.7 same 60ft, so no lol.. I wont be revving it that hard again, was just experamenting 8)

and why my car was bogging??... last drags i was getting bog in 2nd, talked to a few people, dunno but putting that down to not enough roadspeed, wrong tyre pressures (too high), no grip, not enough speed for 2nd, like people have suggested to me!. A couple of guys in C22 had exact same problems with 2nd gear bogs, one guy with 600hp fwd Lancer so i know it cant be my car now haha.

suppose just more experamenting :)

Yeah I kept on seeing that, I don't know if this would help you becuase my car is completly different, but I always leave off the last orange and cut usually a .100 reaction time and even got down to a .025 on sunday :D

Yeah i know to leave at the last orange. Last meet i was consistently on .1 reactions.
I tried leaving the line first ahead of dave in the GTR, as i know he is lazy at the lights.
I just had nerves i guess.
I managed a .004 reaction at one point

My reactions were shyte, so whats the story with reactions? Ive been told differant things.

do they actually count towards your time or not? Does the time start when its green or when you cross the beam??

If you are racing the other guy and want to beat him then reaction means something. If you just want to better your ET then take as long as you like on the line, because it doesn't affect your ET at all.

Your ET time starts from when you cross the beam.
The total time starts from when the light goes green.

He's lazy at the lights because he can be. Not that thats a great thing to be, but he doesnt need to push his reaction times to win

He just de-tunes the GTR before every meeting so he runs 11.0-11.1's all day with no hassle, I'm sure that thing could easily run low 10's on street tyres if he gave a good tune for once at a meeting............makes me wish I had money

He said to me after prize giving that he wasnt going to the next event. I might have a chance to be in the winners circle for once :)

It makes me wonder about DD's GTR it seems like forever now he has been sitting in that 11.0 flat area.I don't no why he just does'nt crack into the ten's and then dial it off back to his dial in of 11.0.I have to say though it is the quickest GTR I have been out on the track with at Manfeild as well so at least he gives both Drag and Circuit a crack.

Did'nt his car used to be a ex-HKS Demo car,I'm not sure on that one though??????

I suspect he doesn't want to have to cage it - the white R34 won't be allowed to race again before its caged. There are far quicker GTRs around than Dave's around the various tracks in NZ, though his is very much a street setup. Having said that, aside from the cage Max Penningtons in NP looks quite street - runs well under the 1:20 mark, and there was one doing 15s at Intermarque on semis.

Not sure about the history of Daves, it had HKS stickers on it when it came here but then quite a few imports come here a little stickered up. It showed up on a car yard in the Hutt more or less as it is now :D
