Tried different gbox oil? Have heard of people getting a bit more life out of them with better (thinner?) oil.

synchros are farrrrked into 3rd and wearing into 2nd, the box has been rebuilt more times than ive had hot dinners :?
just biding my time til i figure out a suitable solution to it. i have managed a couple of test runs at 20psi on the new turbo tho , and nailed it cleanly thru all gears , and its showed huge potential, if i can get clean shifts it should be capable of some respectable times.

Brilliant!!! Obviously we should all wait until the next meet, then I can race, and get my 13.998 @ 120mph and win the great race to 13s hahaha.

Looks like its the only import meet at Masterton :( :( There will be other meets though. Gahhh now it becomes tempting to just see if my clutch can hold on at 8psi - strictly speaking it should still have a 13 in it haha.

To be honest, the main thing I am concerned about is that the tune in it at the moment is just something me and a mate programmed in with a narrow band o2 sensor and low load (ie, barely positive pressure) to get the car driving sensibly so I can get it around if need be. I'm waiting for dyno tuning (30th this month) before I really let it off its leash - I reckon it will drive straight through the stock clutch if I don't replace it before then as well 8O

apparently its standard 4agze disc w/ upgraded PP. ive never had to pull it out in 18 months of pretty serious abuse , so i give it huge credit.its still quite driveable too.
its just starting to show a hint of slip dropping into 4th at 110km@20psi.
still bites hard going up the gears tho and doesnt slip building from low rpm.

Lith , road tunes are bad  dont underestimate the factory clutchs ,sometimes they can hold a substantial amount of grunt  you are dealing with slightly larger torque figures tho.

Hey all, I am totally new on this drag race thing. Is it really fun? I am thinkin of giving it a go this coming meet. Just wondering the cost ay.. I notice the gate entry fee and the race car entry fee. Do i have to pay both if i enter the race? Also, Anything i need to bring for the race? like uniform wise. Any other cost that i need to entry that race? I just wanna have a fun day. Any one going from welly?

Road tune is bad - but its not for any load level, hence not wanting to race. Safe enough to dawdle around with though. "SLIGHTLY" larger torque figures? Haha. Trust me, stock clutch is very likely to not like it. Its the original, so getting a bit tired.

BZR

its heaps of fun, entirely different to other types of racing. you have to pay entry to get in the gate, then you pay whatever it is to enter the racing then you'll need to buy either a day license or a season license thatll last you a year. i think last year it cost about 120 all up , but u dont have to repeat the license fee until next year.

you usually just need a helmet and a safe car. they just do a quick check to make sure nothings falling off etc.

admittedly its more fun if you have enough power to make putting it down difficult , but it still doesnt really matter and its quite a unique thrill. there is quite a bit of buildup to each race , as you tend to sit in staging next to your opponent for up to 15 minutes , and then you get to do a legal burnout , and then you get to go as fast as you can within 400m. the nature of it also means you can beat much more powerful cars if you do your shit right and they do their shit wrong. everyone loves to see an underdog win.
you should be able to get a lot of runs as its an import only day , and they usually allow grudge racing between eliminations. that means you can pick a mates car , or annything that you might have a good race with and go for gold :D
