He grew up in Levin. Seems to be the theme, one of the other guys there got 14.7 out of a basic bolton silvertop 20v :!: :?:

generally blacktops will run in the low 15's.

its not just power and weight that affects it either, its how well you get off the line, how well you can shift gears, the powerband of the engine. its not always just the driver either, if your gearbox or clutch is tired it will affect your times too.

i found last year i had to shift really slowly or the it would bounce back out of gear, and also had a flatspot on the ecu if i shifted too fast. affected my times hugely so i had the slowest car with the most power  having x power and y weight will nowhere near garantee a time

Thats awfully fast/quick. Any major mods?
Or was it exhaust/intake?
Lighten the car up any bit?
Tyres?

Definitively interested now seeing as i own a similar car.

had a nice exhaust, and an HKS panel filter replacement in a standard airbox. Had factory viscous LSD which probably helps a little

I've been biting my tongue since he said that. More time for actual racing is all good with me!

There actually won't be more racing, burnout comps are always run after whatever racing there was on anyway.

was a blistering hot day today.
not a bad day for toyota. heaps of very respectable times coming out, a little white gt starlet off here was running 13.2@109mph, slayed a few quick cars through the day.
was a nice auto 1jz soarer runinng in the 12's all day on standard turbos.
trueno_turbo had a few issues running ideal times and there was a mk4 supra turbo having issues putting down a decent time too.

pitty about my times. I was expecting at least Mid 13s today with new tune and decent tyres, its got me puzzled aye lol.
Need to talk to a few people and see why its happening.

ill be back next month for sure!!! :D

Lith the jammy bastard got down to 13.3 at end of day i think
the aristo was running nice times early on too.
oh and PC in his little bluetop 4age ae82 pulled a 15 flat , pretty impressive i think :P

KIWIMR2's old mr2 was there running late 12.8's on a new engine. guy driving it seemed disappointed at the 1.9sec 60ft's on street tyres , bloody mid engines.

don't worry too much trueno_turbo, you were still faster than all the supras there  and you made it through the first round of eliminations only to be taken down by the mad volvo.

actually a good effort by the toyotas there today in 2wd turbo traditionally dominated by nissans.

Haha I did a 13.4 the run before that as well - when I did that I was pretty sure if I didn't stuff anything up my next would be a 13.3 :) Not the fastest time out there, but I was quite stoked with it being done how I drove there and how I drove away - no tricks etc. May have to get some sticky tires and shed some weight to see how deep into the 12s I can go haha.

I missed PCs time, thats awesome!!!! Very cool

Well i finished up 3rd overall in 4wd turbo 8)

Got beaten by GTRPWR in the semi final (had him till half track then he just romped away).

Im sure i was the most underpowered evo there, and i was kicking butt.

Best time: 11.99 @ 110mph (pretty much standard car to 8O)
But i broke it
Mine was the silver evo launching the sacks off it. 1.6sec 60 foots with .1 reaction times.
