I think cars in general are a money pit for anyone who sees them as more than transport from A to B. Just up keep/maintenance alone is a huge bill per year if you are fussy about what products you use.

I have spent 4 times my cars purchase price already on modifications so far and as we all know, its never ever truly finished is it? There is always something we "need" haha

4 or 5 years ago, I thought about buying a cheaper, lighter car so I could just go out and have fun, thrashing around in a huge variety of motorsport and to not worry so much about how it looked or whether it had a few dents and scrapes on it, but I ended up spending all my money on the money pit I own now so theres no going backwards.

No regrets though :)

:)

I couldn't agree more.

I have a daily driver that I totally ignore, and the "race" car, which is a $2000 Corolla I spent about $10k on over three years, and it's STILL just about a standard Corolla at the end of that money spend :)

I have a 1997 camry station wagon as my daily. I bought it 7 years ago as it flies well and truly under the radar, and I knew it would never break down, provided that I took care of the basics. Cambelt is due soon though but once that is done I will have another 8 years of trouble free motoring before another major spend hopefully. Apart from the $12k purchase price, she has only ever asked for tyres and oil changes.

The supra was bought for the same amount as the wagon, but in half the time, Im now knocking on $40k spent. Her happiness is directly proportionate to the unhappiness of my wallet haha ;)

Out of everyone who has expressed an interest to attend something, when would suit everyone the best.

The next two weekends are out for me, so early march works best for me.

Everyone please give an indication :)

Easiest way is to just pick a date, time and location with a few weeks notice. You won't find a date that will suit everyone. And if you ask for everyones opnions, it will be another 3 months before its happened

Are you actually going to make it?

Are you sure you're not DJ'ing the night before and wont be able to make it?

Or your manifold needs to be replaced? etc etc?

that is all.

Just refitted the manifold and turbo last week after getting some welding done so I cant use that as an excuse ;)

But..... I just found out I have a close friends 40th on the night before, and as you are well aware already Luke, Jager always takes precedence over ...well....everything really hehe. But I still do "plan" to attend provided I dont get too pissy eyed. Would hate to still be under the influence of alchomahol when driving up for lunch.

Damn black liquid gold ;)
