Thanks everyone for the concern. Unfortunately, I don't have an alarm. I might as well install one soon. Lucky that I have got insurance, hopefully I can claim everything back.

Oh...well...I don't think cop can do much about the theft at our area. They are too many of them and my mate has actaully seen a maori guy (who is around 16-17) walked off from my car b4. But too chicken to catch him.

This is the first time we've had any issues down our street. Funny thing was that if they'd gone thru the huge bin becide the cars they woulda got interior parts, sports exhausts etc but instead they got nothing

I live in Newlands too and had some one try to break into my car about 2months agon but the sensor light outside my room always wakes me up. Myself and my brother ran outside and caught the guys...beat the living daylights out of them and then called the police. The funny thing was that when the police turned up the guys tried doing us for assault!!! The cops didnt even want to hear it and made the guys pay for damages to my wagon

Yeah, I've found the cops arent bad like that...if you catch someone in the act, give them a good kicking and when the cops arrive claim you thought they had a screwdriver in their hand, or they were attacking you. They dont like car thieves any more than we do.
