So, who's going up to watch gravel get chucked about.

I think myself B1 and Stace are going to do the day trip.

I'm not sure precisely. Trying to beat answers out of Stacey, but she's just enjoying it. Although there is always the possibility that she is out of town for INXS and their new pretty boy lead singer.

You thinking of heading up and back on the Saturday also?

I had suggested spectating stages 6 and 10. That would mean a late start, because first car into 6 is ~ 11 am, so no need to hit the road early.

mmm I can imagine she would  although B1 might enjoy it more coming from you

Yeah up and back in the one day sounds like a good plan....less money spent the better I say.

Am trying to source a second centre console for the KE, might have found one in palmy, depending on times etc, might see if that can be tied in to the trip as well, two birds one stone thing

Ok, will discuss with you tonight, possiblity of a car pool on Saturday also.

Though, I think that between you, me, Stacey, and Brendon the only real four seat car (Cynos' and Levin's do not count as a genuine four seater) is my geriatric Starlet, and Donna's 2E powered EE90. It'd be a slow, but economical trip.

If you'd be so kind as to let one other tag along, I could bring the KP along to the stages from Palmy, if someone wanted to jump in from there.

But as it stands I know nothing about where to go/times etc.

Let me know :D

Manfeild is always a good stage to catch then from there there is a great spectating point at an itersection halfway through not the next stage but the stage after, then you can catch a service out the back of apiti and see the 1st few cars come out of the stage just up the road from the service round apiti. After that ridge road has another good spectating point, if you get in just the right spot at the top pf the hill you can see the cars for a good 8k's or so of road, i recomend binoculars for that particular spot. I would love to come and spectate this year but unfortunately i have promised that i would do something else instead a coupe of weeks ago when i thought it was not this weekend but next weekend.

Try here but it's not very helpfull for route maps, i'm not sure where i found the one i had last year, may have been manawatu evening post or something. If i can find it in the local rag i'l put a list of roads and 1st car though times for interested people - from that point well you'l just have to learn how to use a map :)
