What does it cost this year? Used to be $50 to race and free entry, Now they charge you at the gate even if your racing and the entry has gone up hasnt it? It seems like a lot of money for roughly 4 15second runs

last year if you raced on the saturday you could go back and go all day sunday for freee. dunno if thatll be like that this year.
either way,it still costs more to go to a track, and its closer, and its a whole different game anyway. i enjoy it in a whole different way than other forms of racing.

Lets see:

DRAGS: 1 1/2 hours travel $50 entry fee + $30NZDRA licence? + $20 gate entry fee = $100

Time on track, 5X15seconds = 75 seconds total track time

TRACK DAYS: 1 1/2 - 2 hours travel $70 entry , 5X 1:30 laps per session approx, maybe 5-6 sessions for the day

Spot the value for money racing

Although I must say drag racing is a lot of fun, it takes skill to win at a track, It takes more money than anything to win at a drag strip

Hahahahaha i always see it there, it goes pretty good.

A full years licence is $50, but you can get a temporary licence just for the weekend.

I'm just gutted i cant race, but will definitely be watching.

Funny is that your old man, used to have a chat to him every meet a few years back, was laways just slightly behind him time wise untill he started getting serious, and even then i'd done some stuff and manged to stay with him for 1 meet. then it was all over, damn the easyness of getting more power from a turbo

I raced against that Volvo on Manfeild, in my 1300cc Suzuki Swift.

Was very funny, because under brakes, smoke was pouring out the front wheels, and under gas smoke was pouring off the back tyres.

Meantime, he's got a Swift running bicycle tyres hot on his heels.

That was a fun day.

Haha fairynuf. When the whale is more reliable and nimble it will hit the track, in the meantime short bursts down a straight will suffice. Not quite sure how spending more money improves reaction times and ability to get a boat up and moving without black lining the track...
