Toyspeed day@Manfield on the 23rd of April...

Postby 2jayzgte » Fri Feb 09, 2007 7:36 am

Guy's,

I was just wondering who is doing this day from Wgtn.I no for me its going to be my first hit out for the year. Also doing the big track at Manfield I have'nt done this in about 6-7 years I no they used to do the old open days in this configuration so it will be new to everyone who does it..I no down the back there there are no cambered corners so it will be like going hard on a flat road surface. It will be good to see some people off this forum there so you can match up user names with cars and of course meet new people....... :D

If not this one, then probably the Intermarque in june, or the queens birthday trackday in taupo?

you doing any intermarques, or the new dual sprint series this year 2jay?

Yes I would like to I have to renew my clubsport license though really its a poor excuse on my part really.I had it 2 years ago and then it expired and I just did'nt renew it just slack on my part. The last 2 years basically I've been doing private and open trackdays so maybe it is time to get into something a little more organised..

Doing a FMIC and engine oil cooler upgrade so I'm quite excited.I'm looking for about 25-30 HP with this upgrade. But most importantly not sacrificising reliability which is more important to me as with the latter you can run all day.

I want to do at least 10 track-days this year its the only place I feel I can really see how good a performer my car is.So look fowrd to seeing you guys there..... :D

yeah it seems you could do endless open track days without a license if you wanted to.
would be nice to get an officially timed lap tho, not the highly optimistic times you often hear reported from "untimed" open days.

A guy standing with a stop watch and writing times down is a guy with a stopwatch writing times down. Makes no difference if the paper has letterhead or not. :P
Are you talking about using electronic timing?
Most people on a stopwatch will be accurate to 1/10 of a second.

excuse the ignorance... but is this an open track day?
and what is the 'atmosphere' like?
hard to define my question properly... but I'd like to go to a track day as I've never really gone more than 105k in my car - and I think it'd be fun to go a little faster (legally too), and I'm also keen to find out a little bit about how it handles as I sometimes feel unsafe cornering and stuff like that. but I don't really want to "GO FAST" if you know what I mean

does that make any sense at all?
I just want a safe place to learn how do I drives my car :D

Chelles track day would be a good time to go cos you can take an experienced passenger and they can show you where/how to drive etc.
