budget 400-600$.
depends if theres already a map to start with etc, and if you give them a car full of issues itll cost you a lot more. make sure you have good ignition and fuelling b4 you even think about tuning.

best way top find out for sure is to ring people up, dont go by what youve been told .

I would recomend giving Speedtech a call , Andre has done a great job on my car for reasonable money .

agree with leon, unless someone else is just using their facilities for you.
speedtech are good, theres a few other people around who do it too, always pays to shop around.

bear in mind you usually pay a dyno hire fee (150-200$), plus the tuners labour to do the tune, probly at least 3-4 hours by the time they set it up on the dyno and get a tune done.

I have been going to Chequered Flag for quite some time now and have not had any problems though I no people have had troubles with the owner.I think chequered flag is fine as long as you have a knowledgeable tuner who no's your car you'll be sweet..

You mean, you're saying, rent the chequered flag dyno but not the owner.

Thus, in fact "don't use chequered flag"?

At the end of the day it does'nt matter where you go there is a chance of problems occurring when you use a dyno.I would'nt hesitate to go back to Chequered Flag because I go there with a certain Tuner who know's the ins and outs of my car and yes I no the Dr.Death does'nt have the best reputation but I have yet to run into any problems there so I would'nt have any problems going back..Touch Wood...... :D

Coryn, who do you recommend for a tune? My mate in Wellington doesnt wanna use Andre after some bad experiences and currently drives to Auckland to get tuned at ST Hitec. A long drive which makes a tune very, very expensive.

A local tuner would be a help for him.

Car is a Nissan GTR though, not a Supra :)

Cheers

pretty sure i know who ur talking bout rh9 , bit unfortunate that he had some bad experiences with them.

might be cheaper for him to fly the tuner down from auckland and use a dyno down here
i guess its understandable to be picky about who you let near it when you have invested that much tho.

What seems to be the going rate to install and tune a link?. Ive just booked my car in with speedtech quoted $2100, thats install and tune a new G3 with new loom installed, plus install and setup clutch switch for launch/flt shift etc, didnt think that was too bad..

does that sound quite reasonable compared to other places?

Japanese performance in Petone are quite good with Skylines from what Ive heard, he uses the chequered flag dyno.

hmm not exactly cheap but not bad either. theres a lot of cunting around when you're doing that sort of stuff. bam will be doing most of your wiring anyway, and hes pretty onto it. i found that they are quite tidy when it comes to that side of things, something that cant be said about a lot of autosparkies.
ive found them really good (in my experiences) at standing by their work, ie if you're not happy with a something theyll sort it out for you.

ill look forward to seeing you beat my power figure  if my rangi setup can do it then you should blitz me

ps - will return the clutch tool this week, havent even got the bloody box back on yet haha, but clutch is on and waiting.
