This Saturday, there is 4x4 offroad trials stuff happening off South Makara Road (don't know other details, but I am sure you can google it).

Labour Sunday
Port Road Street Sprint, all day. [Not drag racing]
There is SPECTATING this year, for the first time in many years. So if you want to watch people doing phat skidz au, then go to the Truckstop Car Park, Barnes Street, access via Seaview Road.
http://www.smaps.co.nz/nz/lower+hutt/se ... es+street/
There will be people selling food & drink there I am told.

Also, it isn't too late to enter either, if you have a clubsport licence, and no fear of kerbs, buildings, posts etc.

Labour Monday
Motorkhana and Autocross on a gravelled over sealed carpark, at Todd Park in Porirua. $20 entry, helmet and (100% cotton or race) overalls required. 8am start!

Image

entry form is the same as Port Road form, linked above.

http://www.smaps.co.nz/nz/porirua/porir ... on+avenue/
Turn left at Corner of Lyttelton Ave and Titahi Bay road if heading North, then keep straight ahead to enter Todd Park complex

Good beginner venue.
Event information, Geoff Warren 021 515 642

Sunday October 28th, Grass Autocross, Adkin Ave, Donnelly Park, Levin.

Gather 9:30am for 10:00am start.

Bring $20, Helmet, Overalls (100% cotton or race).

Don't bring rally / offroad / mud and snow tires.

Don't bring silly friends who do skids in the carpark outside

Do bring expectations of fun, and having a car covered in cow poop.

Venue suits all but very low cars, great for beginners.

So would I be right in assuming that we would'nt need a clubsport license for the monday's events in porirua??

If so I'm highly keen to take the levin out for a blat :D

This is correct, for Monday in Porirua, and the following Sunday at Levin, you will need.

Current Helmet
100% cotton (or race) overalls
$20 per event

Also ensure your battery is tied down TIGHT, because 3/4 of the issues we have with new competitors is a battery that you can move just by pushing it with your hand.

We'd be happy to see new faces at any of these events, and are always willing to help out where ever possible to see new people giving it a crack.

Cool :D,

Do I need to send in my reg form beforehand or just on the day??,

Any special features I need to bolt onto my car that a normal road-going car usually wouldnt have??

Cheers

On the day is fine.

Nope, if you have a standard road car in sound condition you should fly through. Nothing you need to add. If you've got an open engine breather system, make sure it is breathing into a bottle, not just dumping to atmosphere. Make sure your battery is tied down. No big holes through the firewall etc. Make sure your exhaust isn't full of holes, your seat is bolted down, your belts work etc. Also don't forget to remove any loose crud you have in the car, like subs, coke bottles under the drivers seat, anything in the boot that isn't very well secured etc.

That was seriously cool fun day. Damn hot, have sunburn on face.

Third in class against lots of Mini's and stuff. Beaten by seriously insane Imp, and fairly warmed over Mini. Very happy with that result for the mighty 4 speed, standard, ex rental car

Rentals CAN fly! :) Didn't you have an email address similar to that? :)

I had fun as my alter ego albaru. Almost up with the big boys. Fun trying to go faster through corners when you know there's a gutter waiting at the apex AND exit. :o

I'm not so sure about that, the 330kw tune i was running was far too skittery matched with the stipidly hard tyres i was running to get any kind of smooth run going...........500kw would just be insane
