Sealed Autocross August 30th

Postby Leon » Mon Aug 10, 2009 8:57 pm

Harbour Capital Car Club would like to invite you to attend the second round of this series.

Gather at 9am August 30th (a Sunday) for documentation and scrutineering at the Brooklyn Wind Turbine car park.

Please note, you will need to convoy *in*, but due to the wonders of the automatic exit gate you or spectators may *leave* the venue at any time during the day. This means if you turn up after about 9:45 you're going to have to phone one of the organisers to let you in!

The entry fee is $30 per driver

You will need to bring helmet, and overalls (100% cotton, or race, but not polycotton!).

Please do not bring slicks, or bald tyres.

Have a look for the Scrutineering Schedule on the event webpage in www.hccc.org.nz

This event is aimed towards new folk, so please don't hesitate to contact any of the organisers if you have any questions. We're reasonably non-scary and we're interested to get new people out there playing.

If you want to have a look, or be taken out for a ride in a race car, please talk to the organisers and we will arrange it for you. Note: minimum passenger age is 12 years old, and anyone under 18 will need a parental consent form in advance of the event.

Points are decided by your fastest timed run on the day. No complicated classes, first past the post takes home 25 points, and the points decrease by one point per position.

You can drop your worst round (in case you have to get to a wedding or funeral on the same day as one of our rounds!), so the best three results from the four rounds decide our overall winner.

You can enter as few or as many rounds as you choose.

First prize for the series is $100 in BP vouchers; additionally www.photoworks.co.nz will chose a worthy contender for Most Improved, and a “Thanks Mate” award winner from our helpers.

Any MotorSport compliant vehicle can enter, so if you’ve got anything from a Daihatsu Charade, Toyota Supra, Porsche 911, or a Fiat Uno, we will be happy to see you there.

Google Maps search of Brooklyn Wind Turbine Wellington will get you directions to where you need to go.

Hrmm could that be cheating?... an unfair advantage? :P

Well done, so you'll be a contender for the top 3?

She's yanking your chain Jake :)

Plus of course even if she wasn't, nobody knows until the day what the course is going to look like anyway, as Ben sets it up with zero instruction from us, we let him do his own thing because he's awfully good at it. 8)

Hopefully that Sylvia is finished. Would be interesting to see him compete in it, as it should be a bit of a weapon once all the panels are on and the holes are gone! 8)
