Drove through from the hutt to newlands and saw all the cops closing off the road but not the crash itself.
Must have been a ways south, perhaps at the set of lights with the parallel road running up into the hills?

Nope, me neither. That is a damn scary junction for the folk attempting to cross two lanes of traffic that should be doing 60, but is in fact doing 80.

We were on that road on Friday night around 11pm, doing ~ 10k over the speed limit, and were then passed by an over width truck (yellow flashing lights, banners etc) doing about 15k faster than we were. [facepalm]

yeah, I had a callout for work yesterday and was coming that way at about 11:30am so must have just missed it. There was seriously about 6 ambulances, 3 fire trucks and a few cop cars that I could see, thought it must have been pretty serious, I had to go up Ngaio gorge but I was going to Jville so not a big deal anyway.

Was in the car with Leon the other night being passed by the wide load truck with flashing lights travelling at about 25km/h over the speed limit
