Urgent: Multi layer carpark with low roof (concrete)

Postby MrOizo » Tue Jun 24, 2008 11:58 pm

As the topic.

After a Multilayer carpark that i can use for some calibrations. Maybe a underground car-park with a roof about 2.5m high? Must be concrete top and bottom.

Something that i can get a 4WD and trailer down into.

Thought there might be somesort of shopping centre that i could use?

Cheers~

ummmm

Not sure on exact measurements etc but.

Countdown - Church Corner
Cnr of Riccarton Road & Hansons Lane (access to underneath carpark off hansens lane) - I'm assuming the ground is concrete not tarseal but can't make any guarantees.

heres the 3 big malls, each has a mezzanine floor in the carpark. However, none will be well suited for a trailor, but if you are mad enough, you'll fit  A van with a roof rack can't fit in some places aparently

Riccarton Mall -
Riccarton road -
best access off Matipo st or Rotheram St

The palms
Cnr of Marshlands and new brighton rd

Northlands
cnr (ish) main north rd and langdons rd

Theres a few parking buildings in town you could try, often with first hour free parking so won't cost you anything. Not the best turning space though. All within a stones throw of Columbo st more towards the centre of town around the one way systems.

2.5m doesnt sound like a very high roof for a car park? doubt any of those listed will be close to that low

Well I know for a fact some are as low as 2.1m in areas due to trying to get in with my van and roof rack and not making it....

Cheers guys..

And yeah i think most car parks have a height restriction some where between 2.25 and 2.5 m.

If all going well we should be doing it tonight.

Well CHCH wasnt all that bad. only probs i had there was along SH1 which looked like the city bypass, there are a lot of pricks out that way that allthink its a race. i would have to say along there it was worse than auckland!

all gravy.

As for the carpark, i used the Riccarton Countdown, was just lower than 2.5 with 2.1 clearence sign - worked all good.

Waiting for the ferry back to the North Island now..!
