Reseting Leafs

Postby BlackST185 » Fri Mar 12, 2010 4:33 pm

Hello all,

Anyone know of a good place to get my leafs reset for my 81 KE70 sedan? In Christchurch obviously.

I wanna lower my KE70 but not have to shorten shocks. Also what are some good front springs? Kings, Cobras etc?

I don't want to compress my standard springs or use lowering blocks without reseting my leaf suspension.

Any advice, comments and ideas welcome!

Thanks!

Bellamy and East will make alter or reset Springs. A lot of work shops round Chch use them.

KE70 Sedans don't have leaf springs, only wagons have leaf springs. Sedans and Liftbacks have coils all round.

You have various options depending on your budget & what you want to use the car for. Compressed standards is obviously the cheapest option. Any aftermarket springs are a good option, but you can only lower about 30mm in front of a KE70 with standard shocks. Alternative to shortening standard shocks ( Which are probably worn out anyway, unlesss recently replaced) is to use a shorter shock, intended for a different model. For example KE70 Wagon Rear Shocks are 80mm shorter than sedan shocks, using them in a sedan allows you to go much lower & keep your spring captive. There are heaps of options for front shocks depending on how low you want to go

Thanks guys!

Would the best option for the rear be new kyb wagon shocks with aftermarket springs?
