Any auto/canvas upholstery people here?

Postby Elmo » Sat Jan 05, 2013 3:50 pm

Ive just bought an oldish poptop caravan. Although the canvas in it is 'ok' it does have some holes and some weak areas. Can anyone aid in getting these repaired cheap! The sides dont realistically some off, so unless you can sew with a machine on your fore head, sewing isnt really an option.

A couple of holes have been covered with canvas and glued, any idea what sort of glue to use?

In the long run I want to get a new canvas shell made up, but thats a season or two off yet.

F2 is a common adhesive in upholstry shops.

just patch it up until you get motivated to replace it as it cannot be sewn unless there is a seriously log-armed sewing machine availble
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

I was thinking F2, and yep, the repairs do look like that also.

Yep, only planning on patching as Im not gonna risk more damage pulling it off either.
