Engineering Student

Hey guys i'm putting this here to keep it regional.

I'm an engineering student looking for some experience with race cars. I want to volunteer my time to a workshop or a race team so that i can learn more about racing and race cars to try to start a career as an engineer in motorsport. In the long run I want to design race cars in formula 1 or touring cars but I need somewhere to start.

I am half way through my second year of my mechanical engineering degree at cpit. I can do 3D CAD design, FEA analysis and Strength calculations.

Does anyone know of anyone that runs a race car or workshop that would want my help and would be willing to teach me to give me a start motorsport?
