Donuts in a paddock

Postby Ako » Fri Apr 07, 2006 12:09 pm

Righty - its that time of year at the moment when landowners don't really seem to mind us ripping up some grass :D

Anyway, herein lies my request.

Us Msport mitsubishi-driving folk would love to have a day out where we can let loose in someones paddock, with permission of course. We're all quite happy to pay a fiver or ten bucks or something for the privelidge, and I've got a great huge BBQ to bring along as well. We'd make it a multi-club thingy, the subby club down here is picking up bigtime of late too.

Problem is, our normal paddock arrangement isn't happening at the moment so far as we've heard  Which puts us slightly tarmac-bound unfortunately :(

I'm aware the CCC holds motorkhanas now and then, but I don't think our definition of grasskhana fits in well with theirs... Its always a case of starting the day trying to get the best time round the cones, by the end of the day its who can get the most out of shape for the benifit of the camera  If this isn't the case, let me know. And if you're curious, we always bring along a fire extinguisher or three, and people do get a rark up if "fun" turns into just plain unsafe.

So I'm not looking for interest here - I know every man and his dog is always keen to come join in or at least just watch - I'm trying to find if anyone has a paddock, or has a lead on one, or can just tell me the number of someone to call who might be receptive to the idea. If you can help, let me know - it'd be hugely appreciated, and worth it in the end as well... Trust me :D

I was ripping up my future sister-in-law's paddock just last week, pretty dry though, I don't think they'd appreciate it if it ended in flames.. although, it is the right time of the year crop-wise. Dunsandel too far out?

Driving out of town isn't a problem at all :D

CCC is also in lookout for a new Motorkhana paddock, our current one is being overrun by Fulton Hogan's quarry and occasionally horses...

And in answer to above question...

By all means, go for the best time around corners, and if you happen to end the day trying to get the most sideways for the cameras, it only hurts your overall results time  And when on the right paddock, there is always some 'play time' for those who just want to see how sideways they can get on the grass... but as also mentioned, being a complete idiot isn't tolerated, CCC is responsible for the land we use, and even though it gets ripped up from what we do, being a tosser and using it as your own private donut session during the event will see you not welcomed back pretty quickly. :)

I can say these things to you
'Cause I can turn on any one
Just like I turned on you
I've got a tongue like a razor
A sweet switchblade knife
And I can do you favors
But then you'll do whatever I like

Theres one paddock with little hills on that you can make a track out of with banked corners and stuff.

Is there a organiser these days that can organise something worth going to? :?

Um - the implication in me asking for the paddock in the first place was so I could organise an "event" for it  Besides, the main justification is that I've got a VR4 for sale and need to hack it at least once before it goes :D

Ollieboy - either next weekend, (13th / 14th), or the weekend after (20/21st)... Hell, just soon as really. No need for us to wait around for ages, if you can get the OK from your mate then you'll see a whole pile of us showing up, no doubt.

We can even have a toymota vs mitsi hack-off - HOWS YOUR FWD NOW HUH

13/14th is a bad date too. too short notice and there are a few members competing on Ashburton, so i'm sure there will be a few guys heading to the Street Sprints to cheer them on.
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin
