I think you need to join as a member of Submerge to get details.

Probably just need WOF, rego, helmet and fire extinguisher I'd say, wont need a rollcage.

Just needs to be road legal you wont need a roll cage

Safety Wise
1) Helmet
2) Cotton Overrals
3) Fire Extinguisher as pictured here in my old wrx http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/ ... 040520.jpg . You can get cheap ones with plastic mounts from The Warehouse. Will do the trick for the day, but metal mounts would be better so you can enter into more serious events in the future.

As a suggestion, if you roll your car, with one of those brackets ... you're very likely to have a fire extinguisher flying around the car, and seriously f*cking somebody up if it hits them.

This is a well intentioned suggestion, but seriously, don't do it. Have people stationed at marshall points with proper extinguishers. This is a safer option.

That is a good point, its not contradicting the rules though especially as this would've been picked up at scruteneering. As the canterbury car club does not specify for it to be a metal one. But yeah likewise a metal bracket is better, and thats what I have in place in my ride.

Wrong. Dead wrong.

All MSNZ clubs share the same rulebook.

http://www.motorsport.org.nz/Pdf/M33%20App2%20SchA.pdf

Just because a scrutineer may have stuffed up, doesn't make it right. Any time you sign an entry form you state that your car MUST comply with the regulations.

4/6 (4) a
A retaining system incorporating quick release metal fastenings/straps, or material of an equivalent strength (ie: Kevlar)

Page 130.

So unless you've found a super magic plastic bracket at the Warehouse you are breaking the rules as well as potentially endangering your drivers by allowing them to have a poorly retained 1.5kg missle in the cabin with them.

sorry mate, but by saying a plastic bracket is acceptable, you were contradicting the rules.
maybe guys like yourself should become FULLY conversant with the rules before planning track days, there fore the correct information can be passed on to potential entrants.

Yeah on nelson cars it did get deleted unfortunately, I did post up again on there but topic got deleted sorry.

If it is a warehouse one, just take it back and you can get your $$$ back. Same with repco and all alike as you under consumer guarentee's act if you kept your receipt. If not you can ask to fill in and refund application form at The warehouse and you will get ur $$$ sent back to you. Sorry I am re adjusting initial post.

Consumer guarantees act does not give you the right to return a product if you've chosen incorrectly, places like the Warehouse/Repco make it their policy to taken them back, which annoys the f**k outta me because in a retail position where we don't offer the same policy, you end up with people screaming at you simply because you refuse to offer a refund on a product that is returned purely on the grounds they "didn't like it" or "the colour didn't match."

Carry on 8)

Which is why you don't believe everything written on the net. It's only 30 bucks and it always pays to have a fire extinguisher handy round home, may as well keep it.
