No sign of plates

Whats the process of changing plates over? Do you need ID? I was thinking that maybe if someone uplifts the plates, they could take them to an AA, fill out the MR2a form, get the new plates and return those to him.
Technically its just doing what he should have done already ;)

Dude, just get them remade. Your obviously getting no where with the winner who has them

Say your car was stolen with the plates on it. It costs $21 bucks to get them remade and put on another vehicle.
I did this last week. All over the phone. You'll need to have a credit card handy to do it over the phone.

Sorted. :)

Ring him, tell him plates in your hands in 2 (two) days or reported stolen. No action then report the plates (NOT the car) stolen and get remade.

Cant, police consider it a civil matter, so they're not interested.

Tell the cop to sort his shit out. The plates are your personal property and can therefore be stolen. If he won't file and action the theft report then demand to see his superior.

Yes you can.

My old plate was on my evo3 that was stolen. When I rang up the evo didnt belong to me anymore because I had been paid out by the insurance company. So I was put on to the ltsa who put a dummy plate on that car so they could release me plate, then I rang plates.co.nz back up and they could now get it remade.

As I said, this was all over the phone.

Go round one night. Take ur plate and his plate. Put his plate on a MR2s rear bumber and speed past a fixed speed camera a few times that night. Say 5 tickets, go back put his plate back on and leave with urs. He gets tickets and his plates were always on his car...

Yeah, but then the car would have registered as stolen/destroyed surely?
Cops are hopeless, they dont seem to think its that big a deal - though Im sure if it happened to them they bloody well would.

So yeah, basically if you could organise a few people to go and collect the plates, that would be massive...I could organise for a couple of dozen beers to be given too.
Maybe even take around an MR2a form or whatever it is for him to sign there and then ;)
