JANUARY EVENT - CRUISE to Hanmer Springs

Postby JT » Wed Jan 11, 2006 8:57 am

The votes are in so here's some details.

Sunday 22nd January
Meet Bush Inn Carpark at 9am
Leave 9:30am

Cruise through Rangiora and meet us 10am outside Shell station after the railway line. Onto Hanmer for the day. If you've got a Mountain Bike and want to go for a ride my bro and I will be taking ours. You can hire them up there if you don't have one but still wanna go for a ride.

There's mini golf, those pedal cars, tennis courts and of course the Hot Pools so plenty to do. Even if it's a warm day the cold pool and hydroslides are good to chill out in.

Cruise back whenever you want

Any idea on the cost of mountain bike hire Josh? Or alternatively a contact number so I can find out? I'd be keen for some of that if I end up coming (can't confirm yet - making my trip up to Nats on the Tuesday following so I need the money for that!)... let me know :)

Eh?!? Was there an earthquake and Hanmer shifted a couple of hundred km in the last few days? It's only like an hour and a half normally.

I was up that way just the other day, its still there, in the same place. :-D

Infact, I was up there 3 times in 1 week, ok, twice wasnt as far as hanmer, but it was 2 hours drive from the back of Harwarden to where we were staying.

(there for 1 night, back home to work for a week, then back in for new years for 3 nights, home for a night, then hanmer for a night)

/\---- thats just to say that Hanmer isnt far away. ---/\

It would cost, what?? 20+ odd $$ for most people return? Unless you drive a turbo car and FEEL that you must try impress everyone by boosting everywhere.

If you cant afford to go, why not hitch a ride with someone else? Im sure there are heaps of people that would be happy to take a passenger for ride in there wag.

BTW, my excuse for not going is because its too far, so Im gonna go to Timaru :? :? 8O :? 8O 8O

Tomorrow!!

Weather is looking ok, not too warm so think I'll be throwing bikes in the back of my car. Be cool if some others wanted to go for a ride too so attach those racks and dust off the bike.

Meeting at Bush Inn carpark about 9, leaving 9:30 sharp. If you gonna be late let me know coz we'll be gone otherwise

Hey Ako, you could come at 9:40 then poach all the people you want to help on ya car
