You all drive f-ing slow cars

And I'll continue to say this until I see some of you out at ruapuna racing.

The part I find funniest is the fact people say they dont want to race, then I go into town the SAME NIGHT and see said cars going rather rapidly down moorhouse/fitzgerald/whatever. So much for the "I might void my warranty" or "I don't have enough cash to pay for the drags" call huh...

I'm not going to have a big bitch about street racing - I'm as chronic as anyone, if not worse than most - but come on... Its like $40 to race the whole night at ruapuna, so come have a play. I'm quite serious when I say once you get out there once, you'll be back again for sure. Its fun being able to top 180km/h racing someone without having one eye on your rear view mirror looking for red+blue lights :-D

Next drags are on the 6th of febuary, waitangi / NZ day, its a public holiday so you have no excuses. It will be run in a TEAMS DYO format, which means teams of 4 all going for points and prize money, I'm trying to stir up the mitsi boys into racing and it looks like the subby folk have already gotten the hang of this racing thing quite well.

Been there done that,

yup I have a f-ing slow car I guess  , when I used to race it was getting up towards $70 to race, including a SMALL amount of race gas, so that put me off, and I really cant be bothered starting racing again, I find it more fun to watch.

it comes down to motivation I think, just like the toyspeed cruises, no one shows up, people are just lazy fullstop. :P

6th of Feb?? geez i'll have some work to do in the next 10 days then. i won't fully discount it, i will probably make a run to CHCH to loosen the new engine. i've always wanted to know what the pile of poo can do with real timing.

I agree with Ako 100%
I want night drags to continue so we need more support.

If you are a racer, bait people untill they race. In the last two meets I got both my best mates to race, even tho neither had raced before, and got Amy to take out her glanza.

If you're worried about your car being slow, don't be. Everythings divided into classes, so you'll only race similar setup cars, thats ofcourse unless you want to try your luck against something else.

But don't too many come, I love getting 12 - 15 runs for $30
:)

I've driven 6 hours to Meremere to race a 19 second car, and I won one race
It doesn't matter what time you run, you are still offically faster than the pussies in the stand saying "my car would kill that bro, it would do 10'z easy".

DYO= do a couple of test drags, find out your general time, have a time put on your car window, then race down the track and dont beat what you put on your car otherwise you will break out!!! I ran my non-turbo laser tx3 down the track the best I did was 16.4 @ 84mph heaps of fun and you need a helmet with nz/aus safety approved. long sleave clothes and good shoes.

I cant personaly race as I have 3year mech warranty :( , so I focus on other area's of my car rather than speed!!!

I'm gonna take the POS 1984 si civic this time, it was pointless taking my stock WRX for the 20th January Drags and racing in the 4wd turbo class, i'll have a better chance in the old sh1ter in FWD na class.

Take your plates off then. If it breaks I'll push you onto Hasketts road :)

I'd hate to be bound by a mechanical warranty...where you have to pay someone to change your oil and filter and change sparkplugs and no mods 8O May as well just drive a Camry 8O

Havent got time, nor money. :(
But been there, done that in a 19.1 sec Pulsar. Got myself 11 races, and only won one :D Tho due to a Primera breaking-out :? Of course it didnt help matters by getting put up against turbo cars. (Marshall thought my car was turbo) How was I suppose to beat a 11.something rx7?
