**NZEFI DYNO DAY, 27th MAY** Chch

Postby Tukumi » Fri May 12, 2006 1:00 pm

Hi,

NZEFi is running a dyno day on Saturday 27th May, 11am onwards. Come and test the power of your car! Power, Torque, Boost and optional Air Fuel Ratio plots against RPM.

2WD - $40
4WD - $70

w/AFR +$20

The dyno is NZEFi's new 4WD Dynapack hub system (2000's + 3000's) so can handle big HP with no wheelslip!

There will be prizes in the following categories:

- Overall Highest Power ........................................$100 NZEFI voucher and free entry to next dyno day
- Highest Specific Output NA (HP/L)....................$100 NZEFI voucher and free entry to next dyno day.
- Highest Specific Output Boosted (HP/L)..........$100 NZEFI voucher and free entry to next dyno day

The winners from the last dyno day that get free entry to this one are:
The undisputed overall champion was............. Alan's Ford Focus with 506WHp at 13psi boost.
Boosted HP/Litre went to ......................................Bruce's Integra with 224WHp/L.
NA HP/L went to .....................................................James' Integra 105.2WHp/L.

We'll have the BBQ going, so come on down to NZEFi - 37b Carlyle St, Sydenham (near Repco Gasson St).

Cheers!

Phil

I gather its a hub dyno? If so do you have 5 wide adaptors? Something that will fit Porsche 5 stud wide?

Hi all - new member here - I just signed up to these forums.

I think I'll bring along my MKIV Supra to this dyno day. I talked to someone else with a MKIV who is also keen. There is also a 3rd guy I know with a MKIV down South - I'll ask him if he wants to come up.

Might be nice for a few MKIV owners to show up for one of these things. 2 of these cars are making quite a bit of power...

Sean made 239hp at the wheels..... :D still running rich as!!!

The starion made 121.9hp with a knocky bottom end, a turbo that would only free boost to 13 psi, made 160p touque though, not to bad for the old girl.....

The Cordia made 154.8hp and 174.9 lb/ft, so not bad. Was running very rich up the top end as well.

If anyone here was still at the dyno day when I dynoed, thanks for letting me jump the queue otherwise I would have had to leave and give it a miss. Lindsay had to go, so he went on the dyno Monday morning.

Mine was the Silver Supra (with not many mods) and Lindsay had the Red Supra (with more mods). I never did ask the other guy Phil from down South to come along - he would probably have beaten Linsday's power figure if he had been there.

But anyway, congrads to Lindsay - his car was running pretty well on Monday morning. I saw his dyno sheet today - he won with 588 hp, but he was making 570 rwhp at only 4800rpm so there's plenty more potential - he was making 852Nm of torque at the wheels at that rpm!

My car was running like crap - got down to 9.5 a/f ratio :o and it had the wierdest-looking power and torque curve I have ever seen, going up and down in wavy lines. Not sure what was wrong but I did reset the ECU just before the run so it might have been trying to learn the mixture and timing settings while on the dyno? Felt weak on the way home too. Hopefully it will re-learn its mixture and timing soon... I was expecting about 420hp based on a previous dyno run but made 346 hp in the end.

Good day out though like you said MR2SIK - and all credit to Toyota for making a car with such a strong engine.

The 5 stud wide adaptors are pretty specific.... but anyway I recieved my new rear stub axles on Thursday... and unfortunately the cups arent deep enough for my axle plunge. So I stripped down three of the shocks, removed the gear linkgage (rebushing) and generally spread the Bunderson to the four corners of the garage.
Its only had an hour running since the DCH 177.5bhp (wheels). But it would have been interesting to dyno as I've corrected a cooling issue that had her well overheating on the dyno, the rings have bedded, and a repeditive squeek, that I could have sworn was thrust bearing (which I replaced), but ended up being a TB winding itself off, and causing a vacuum leak. MORE LOCKTITE PLEASE. So would expect a minor increase in power.

Never heard a vacuum leak squeek like it before... very educational.

Done the same at the strip once, never again, reset the ecu in the pits and the car was totally flat on its first two runs :x
