Headlights

How can a headlight bulb have a power consumption of 60/55watts then output 130/100watts?
eg:

is that just the magic of trademe or what?
sorry if this belongs in offtopic, but I figured that it's car related.

It's a bit of marketing wording

What it means is that it consumes 55w, but output the same light as a 110w bulb would.

These so-called white bulb will be white for about a month or 2, then it'll just be yellow again.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

you get what you pay for... some really expensive one will work and last as long as normal bulbs.. will not yellow etc..
I have a Bosch white/blue bulbs on my car for like 4 years now, they still work like 1st day i brought it. They cost like ~$60-100 for the pair.
Have tried $10 "blue bulbs" which only last a few weeks before the glass bubble up! 8O

We sell HID look bulbs also - ours are also rated at much higher light outputs then their actual wattage. I personally do not think the output is as high as they state - in fact I tell our customers expect the same level output as the wattage. Our bulbs do not yellow - but they are more pricey than your $10 cheap n nasties. Ours retail from $29.99+gst - however you get a TS discount off that.

Yea I've got a set of your bulbs in my car. I'd say they are brighter than normal ones, but not by much.

Still as white as the day i got them. :D

All those blue light will NEVER be brighter than standart clear glass one, if the wattage is same. The reason why they appear brighter because of blue filter, filters all the yellows and human eye interprets different colour differently, so in short they appear brighter, but actually don't illuminate better, create more glare, and affect recovery time from temporary blindness by incoming traffic.

Use unfiltered bulb with higher wattage where it is possible (but with u/v cut filter - otherwise it is not good for polycarbonate clear plastic). Never buy bulbs made in china.
