The fact that its pointing at either the wall or the tree as it crosses that 60ft mark kinda puts a dampener on the fact it got there so fast

Have you seen any footage of the sub 8.5s runs?? They're pretty straight! I'd say the rest is more to do with hook up once its rolling without dropping off boost etc.

anyone know what these guys HP/KW per ton is?

Limited to 850kgs, so assume about 900ish - even 1000hp is a midget for a 4wd. Rayglass is damn close to the 850kg limit I think, makes around 800hp, so call it approx 1000:1.

And DOC1LE is reckoned to be in the vicinity of 1300hp.

heh, just wondered... was reading about a 400hp kit car that weighed ~550KG, thought it would be a fun car to drive

Also the fact that it is over 4L kinda puts it out on contention for Sport Compact (I always thought the limit over here was 4L for and Import to be classed as an Import?)

I'm guessing that's a 4 cylinder? If so then I guess that one takes the cake (the time looks a tad suspicious though, seeing as the current Sport Compact record is something like 6.40@220). Brent Rau is the only 4 cylinder tube frame car I've heard much about running that fast, so forgive me for being too lazy to put much effort into my search for the 4 cyl record

Lol I wasn't doubting it cos I was too lazy to check up on it, I was just too lazy to have a proper look for the record in the first place I doubted it because it was 0.09 of a second away from the 6 cyl record, which to me seemed a little close, and also that article on says he went 6.61. Enough for the record (fair bit faster than the guy I was going on about ) but not 6.49 as you quoted before.
